Payday 3 offers more movement options than the previous games in the series, and 99 Boxes is where you'll put your mastery of motion to the test. More than any other mission in the game, this warehouse heist requires lots of vaulting, sliding, jumping, and sprinting if you want to escape with the most money possible.
Skills from the Escapist tree are extremely useful in 99 Boxes, so it's worth taking a moment to check your loadout before readying up. Once you're in the warehouse, have this guide nearby to ensure you get away with the goods.
How To Hack The Guards' Phones
Even though it isn't your official objective, the first thing you should do upon reaching Roger Wilson Warehouse is find the two guards with phones and hack them. Getting this out of the way makes the stealth route much easier. If you have a full team, have your two stealthiest players split up and each go after one of the guards.
The hacks take a long time, so it might seem easier to neutralize the guards before hacking their phones, but avoid doing so if you can. That way you'll be less likely to arouse suspicion early on.
The East Guard patrols along the right side of the building, usually starting next to the security booth there. Watch for him to move next to the portable toilet on the right; while he's standing there, you can crouch behind the toilet and hack the phone without being seen. Near the end of the hack, he'll start walking, but as long as you stay low you can creep behind him until the hack finishes.
The West Guard is at the rear of the warehouse, and takes a route along the outside edge of the yard toward the left side of the building. Approach him from behind, using barriers and trucks to break his line of sight until you're close enough to hack his phone.
If either guard starts playing a game on his phone, he'll be less likely to look around. If he starts smoking a cigarette, he'll keep looking around but will stay in the same place until he finishes.
How To Prepare The Refrigerated Truck
Your goal is to steal cutting-edge quantum drives from shipping containers somewhere on the site. They need to be kept cold, so the first objective is to prepare a refrigerated truck.
You can enter the warehouse from the doors on the left and rear sides of the building, or you can mask up and climb onܫ top of crates and trucks to reach the fire escape on the second floor.
You can also enter the warehouse through an open trailer at the loading dock; this is the easiest point of entry, but requires masking up. The refrigerated truck is in loading dock one, the farthest to the east. Open it up, then start searching for a canister of liquid nitrogen.
There are several wooden crates around the first floor that you can open; one will contain the canister, which you can then install in the truck.
The security room, in the rear right corner of the building, is supposed to require a keycard, but as of the time this guide is being written you can open the door without it, possibly due to a bug. Take the opportunity to eliminate the guard inside and disable the cameras!
How To Find The Correct Containers
Before you can proceed, you need to find the cargo manifest on the office computer.
The computer will be in one of the two offices on the second floor, each on opposite sides of the building. You can use the stairs or climb on the crates to get up there. When you find the computer, hack it and wait for the progress bar to fill. Once it does, interact with the computer once more to get the location of the loot.
You don't need to memorize the exact lot number; Shade will remind you when you're close, and the number will be listed in your objectives.
The loot will be in either the east or west dockyard, determined randomly when you start a new lobby for the♋ heist. Depending on which gates are open - also random - you may need a zipline to enter.
The zipline will either be stashed behind the large American flag in the warehouse, where it can be reached by climbing boxes or by opening the vent near the yellow office, or in a truck around the back. Retrieve it and set it up on the side of the building𒆙 overlookiꦿng the correct dockyard.
The west zipline point can be reached from the inside of the warehouse, near the flag vent. The east zipline point requires climbing on the trucks parked nearby.
Once you're in the dockyard, look at the numbers painted on the ground. This shows you roughly where the container that you need can be found, but you'll have to do some climbing and searching within the correct lot when you find it.
The containers are silver, and locked with a QR code scanner. If you fi💙nd a silver container without a scanner, you can still loot it for cash, but this is optional.
How To Open The Shipping Containers
If you were able to hack both guards' phones and keep the alarm from going off, you can easily open the containers with the QR codes. If the alarm has gone off, you'll need to wait for the helicopter to drop a bag of thermite in the parking lot, then haul it all the way to the container. The thermite is a quick burn, but you'll have to do a lot of running back and forth; Bile won't bring the second bag until the first device is secured.
Once you're inside the container, you need to disable the internal lock. Interact with the screen to the right of the gate, then stand in the hotspots that appear nearby. If you're still in stealth, you'll need to evade guards and workers while you're doing this; if the alarm is triggered, you'll have to dodge bullets instead.
The k𝓀eycard for the security room is carried by one of the guards in the dockyard.
Once Shade hacks the lock, you can open the gate and retrieve the quantum device inside.
How To Secure The Quantum Devices
As soon as a quantum device is removed from its container, a timer appears in your objectives. Each time the bar empties out, the device will lose value, reducing your overall payout. A character built for speed can usually get the device to the refrigerated truck just before the first timer runs out.
Your route will be different each time, depending on where the loot is located. Before taking the drive out of the container, plan your path back to the refrigerated truck. If the fence is closed, you'll probably have to do a lot of jumping and vaulting if you hope to secure the drive in time.
If the assault has started, every player who isn't carrying the drive should do everything they can to keep the cops from delaying the runner. Have at least one player keep an eye on the roof, as snipers will frequently deploy in pairs there. On the ground, be especially vigilant for Zappers and Cloakers, who can stop the runner in their tracks.
Watch the tops of the containers; enemies will appear from theﷺre and drop down on you!
When the first device is in the truck, Shade will send the location of the second. Repeat t༺he process to secure it as quickly as possible.
How To Escape The Warehouse
Once both devices are secured, you can close the hatch to trigger the escape sequence. Once you do this, you won't be able to secure any more bags of cash, ꦚso make sure all your teamm⛎ates are on the same page before closing it up!
Shade will highlight a set of tire spikes in a truck in the parking lot. Collect it, then set it up near the entrance to prevent police pursuit. Once that's done, gather your team at the loot truck's cabin and make your getaway!
