While the Scion is a jack-of-all-trades, she will be fairly weak in the early Acts. The Scion's Passive Tree nodes offer stat buffs that are much weaker than other characters.

As for Ascendancy options, the Scion can only choose one Ascendancy, the Ascendant. The Ascendant's Passive Tree is full of passive skills that are based off of each playable character.

When you activate the node tied to a specific character, you'll be able to start pathing from that character's starting point in the Passive Tree.
