If you've got to Chapter One of the game, you'll eventually find yourself at Shhwonk Fortress. You must clear this area out in order to find the Sun and Moon stones, eventually unlocking the way to the first Crystal Star in Hooktail Castle. There are some enemies littered throughout, but the final 'boss' of the area isn't actually a fight: it's a trivia quiz!
Getting To The Star Fortress
Once you've got to Petalburg and spoken to the mayor, all you need to do is head to the right of town to begin the journey to the Star Fortress - and eventually, Shhwonk Fortress. You'll encounter a few enemies on your way: Goombas, Spiky Goombas, Paragoombas, and Koopa Troopas.
After traversing this first area, you'll find yourself in the Mushroom Fortress. Defeat the two Bald Clefts using the POW Block stashed just outside the room, and you'💝re on to the next area.
After the Mushroom Fortress, you'll have more of the same enemies you found in the first area after Petalburg - although this time withoutꦫ the spiky or regular Goombas.
Ma🌊ke sure you scout the outside areas for items, as the battles with the enemies in each fortress are very difficult without them.
Next up is the Fire Flower Fortress, which contains two Bristles to defeat. These enemies can be pretty intimidating, but if you picked up a - you guessed it - Fire Flower, then this will make the fight a breeze.
There's one more outdoor area after this fortress, with more enemies to defeat. Once you've battled or dodged your way through, you'll be at the Star Fortress - ready for the quiz.
The Questions
There are a total of seven questions that you could be asked in the quiz. If you get three questions wrong, you'll need to fight four Clefts.
However, answer five correctly, then you won't need to have a fight and can pass through unscathed.
The hardcore Paper Mario fans will notice that this is actually a continuation of the 64th Trivia Quiz-Off from the N64 entry in the franchise.
The Thwomp will always ask you if you're sure of your answer befo🔯re you submit. Also, the music may make you feel like you need to answer fast - but don't worry, there's no time limit here.
