How To Start A New Year To Remember
After finishing , you will get a letter from Zeki in your mailbox the next day. Go talk to him while the Maji Market is open, and he’ll tell you about some weird dream he had.
Zeki will tell you that in his dream: the stars started exploding, he had to jump over boiling lava, and then a windstorm kicked up a bunch of wet papers that got stuck on him.
Zeki is at a loss about what his dream means, and says that you can ask around on his behalf to see what it might mean.
Ask Around About Zeki’s Dream
You will need to talk to different people to figure out the real meaning of each weird event in Zeki’s dream. Run around the Maji Market and ask around to get people’s interpretations of the dream. This is a good chance to have fun interactions with people from Kil꧂ima.
You should definitely go talk to Hodari here.
However, you should eventually chat with these people, in this order:
- Najuma will realize the meaning of stars exploding is probably fireworks.
- Reth will realize the meaning of boiling lava is probably hotpot.
- Delaila will then realize the meaning of soggy paper is probably wish ribbons.
After talking with Delaila, you will need to go update Reth next about the soggy paper meaning.
Tell Zeki What His Dream Means
After figuring everything out, go back to talk to Zeki. Give him the correct answers based on what Najuma, Reth, and Delaila said.
Afterwards, you need to tell him the true meaning of his dream is all about the Luna New Year celebration. You’ll then get to listen to a heartfelt story abཧout Zeki’s ch🐠ildhood.
After Zeki finishes his story, he’ll instruct you to go chat with Chayne across the path. When you fill Chayne in, he’ll come up with an idea to give a thoughtful surprise gift to Zeki.
Collect Notes For Chayne’s Gift
You will get Chayne’s Journal as a quest item, and you’ll need to ask some of Kilima’s residents to write a message to Zeki.
The seven villagers you will need to talk to are:
- Delaila
- Eshe
- Hodari
- Kenli
- Kenyatta
- Najuma
- Reth
After you get everybody's messages, go give the journal back to Chayne. He will rip out each message and put it into a candy box for you to go give to Zeki.
Gift the Surprise Candy Box to Zeki and listen to him read everyone’s message.
As if you don’t already feel all warm and fuzzy inside, Zeki will finally decide to make a wish for the new year. Zeki wants Chayne to hang up his wish, and you’ll need to go give it to him.
Talking with Chayne will complete the ‘A New Year To Remember’ quest, and it will also fill in your ‘Cat’s Outta The Bag’ Stamp Card. You will receive 15 Renown, a New Year Candy Box decor item, and 500 Lucky Envelopes.
