Best Places To Mine Iron
Iron is only located in Bahari Bay. On the map above are the areas we've found where it spawns most regularly. A good place to check is actually behind Hodari's House as there are often 2–3 nodes there. Likewise, in the Meadow areas where the Sernuk a𝔍re, there are usually plenty of Iron nodes.
- Nodes do respawn after a short time.
- Nodes can respawn in the same or different places. Stone nodes can sometimes be Iron, and vice versa.
-
As this isn't a regular thing, it's a good idea to gather items as a whole rather than looking for one specific item.
- By this we mean that you should hunt/gather/chop wood at the same time while on the way to do various tasks.
- Iron is not typically located around Points Of Interest - so there are no nodes around the Lighthouse, or the various temples in the area.
- We also haven't found any Iron inside the mines.
To mine Iron, you will need a Standard Pickaxe.
- You can purchase the recipe for the Standard Pickaxe at level 3 mining.
-
The Pickaxe requires:
- 1 x Makeshift Pick
- 20 x Sapwood Plank
- 5 x Copper Bar
When looking for Iron, make sure to keep your eyes on the base of cliffs and rock faces. That's where Iron is most typically found.
What Is Iron Used For?
Iron is an important crafting component for upgraded tools and crafters. It takes time to smelt Iron bars, so it's a good idea to collect some, head home and put it in the Smelter, and then leave again to do another task.
