The importance of headlights cannot be overstated; they are your only beacon through the pitch-black roads, guiding you away from lurking dangers and toward safety. Even when away from the car, the overwhelming darkness can be lit with a simple flare or a flash𒁏light. This guide will teach you how to craft each of these light-emitting items!

How To Craft And Install Headlights

Headlights are an essential part of your car. They are the only way you will have any vision while driving during nighttime excursions. There are several different kinds o𒁃f headlights that you can unlock, craft, and affix to your vehicle.

To install any headlights on your car, hold the desired headlight in your hands and approach the front of the car. Interact with the headlight socket to install the headlight currently in your hand; repeat this for the other side as wellܫ.

Crude Headlights

The first ones that you can craft are the Crude Headlights. These lights are very easy to make, but they are rather dim and have low durability - so you will have to repairও and replace them🦩 after nearly every trip.

Crude Headlights can be crafted from the beginning of the game and do not require any further research at the fabristation.

The crafting recipe for Crude Headlights is:

  • Two Plastic
  • One Duct Tape
  • One Copper Wire
  • Five Road Flare

Road Flares are not crafted and must be acquireꦿd by other means. They have a chance to be found i📖n almost any container, bag, or abandoned vehicle.

Standard Headlights And Bio Headlights

Both standard Headlights (not Crude Headlights) and Bio Headlights are able to be crafted after being unlocked at the fabristation.

These headlights both drain the same amount of battery power as the Crude Headlight, but each of them produces light that travels further and is brighter than their previous generation; they also have more health the higher they are upgraded.

How To Craft Flashlights

In Pacific Drive you aren’t so lucky that you get to stay behind the wheel a🃏t times, relishing the safety of your car. No, you have to venture beyond the doors of yꦆour vehicle and into the wilderness to scavenge for supplies.

When night hits you won’t want to be caught without some kind of flashlight. The first craftable flashlight is called the Relightable Flare, which might seem like a misnomer, but it is a flashlight. It is a rather dim flashlight, but it gets the job done.

You can turn on any of these flashlights and then drop them on the ground wi♑thout turning them off to light up a specific direction while you hold another tool.

The next two flashlights won’t be craftable until you have access to Unstable Energy, which won’t be until you have reached the Mid Zone. Those two flashlights are the Crude Flashlight and the Biolantern. Each flashlight upgrade gets brighter, emits light further, and has more durability than the previous version. For flashlights, the durability determines how long it can stay powered o▨n before it breaks.

How To Craft Flares And Flare Guns

The base version of the flare is the Road Flare, which as mentioned above, is not a craftable item and instead has to be found while out on trips. These flares can be ignited and kept in the hand as a temporary flashlight, or they can be thrown to light up distant areas for scouting and pathing. Road Flares sꩲtay lit for just a little over one minute long.

The first craftable flare, the Bioflare, doesn’t become available until you have reached the Mid Zone. You can perform the same actions with a Bioflare as you can with a flare, but it lasts nearly three times as long - staying lit for more than three minutes - and provides much more light.

You can also craft two different flare guns, a standard Flare Gun and a Bioflare Gun. Flare Guns can be very useful if you need to light up a very distant area or if you need to cover a large area with light.
