Different types of animals can be found in the wild, and you can make their materials easier to come by through capturing and taming th🍸em. This gives you an option for gathering m𒊎eat and skin without having to leave home!
How To Unlock Animal Ranching
Animal ranching is a technology that requires you to unlock two Memetics. The first Memetic is Animal Capture and the second is Animal Taming. Both can be found under the Logistics tab in your Memetics menu.
You'll need to use seven Ciphers to unlock each animal ranching Memetic.
Animal Capture unlocks the Whistle and the Tranquilizer Throwing Needle:
- The Whistle can be used to summon your animals with a high level of tameness.
- The Tranquilizer Throwing Needle can be used to tranquilize animals with low enough HP. They will be knocked out, and you will be able to easily capture them.
Animal Taming unlocks everything you need🐭 to tame your animals:
- The Animal Trough is where you'll store your animal feed.
- Body Boost Feed will raise all your animal's attributes to level 50.
- Meat Pellet Feed can be used to keep meat-eating animals well-fed.
- Grain Concentrate Feed can be used to feed animals that eat grains.
- Herbal Green Feed can be used to feed animals that eat herbs.
How To Capture Animals
Animals need to be weakened before capturing them. Lower their health by attacking them, then wait for an opportunity to aim at them.
When you've got a good shot, bring out your tranquilizer and shoot the weakened animal.
You can wait for a scared animal to calm down and sneak up on them so t🏅hat you can get a better opportunity to aim at them.
Once the animal has been knocked out, you can simply walk up to them and capture them by interacting with their body.
Your captured animals can be found in your inventory and they have carry weight.
How To Tame Animals
Your captured animals will not yet be tame. They will still be afraid of you, or they may be aggressive towards you. You will need to reach a certain level of tameness in order for them to respond better to you.
Tamed animals will also start producing drops.
To raise their tameness level, you need to supply them with food and water by placing them on the ground or in the Animal Trough. Certain animals have favorite food that will raise their tameness quicker.
It is recommended that you keep your animals within an enclosure to keep track of them easily. A fence will work to keep them in an assigned space, but they may clip through ceilings and ꧟walls.
As you care for your animals, they will increase in level of tameness, and eventually they will drop produce. You will stil🔯l need to slaughter them if you want their meat.
Different captured animals come in varying grades. Higher grades will provide higher quality produce. Better grades of meat will increase the buff effects and will allow the buffs that they grant to last longer.
