How To Start The Sins Of The Father Quest
After you complete both Separated at Birth and Legacy Lost quests, wait a few days and then head to Chorrol.
Just south of it, you will find The Oak and Crosier inn, and inside there will be a dark elf called Fathis Ules.
During the conversation with him, he will explain that a specific item was taken by the ogres, and he will direct you to the Redguard Valley Cave, which is just south of the town.

- You can also decide to give it back to the person who sent you to retrieve it, Fathis Ules. He will reward you with some gold for it and thank you for retrieving it.
- Alternatively, you can bring it back to Laythe Wavrick, who can be found at the castle. He will reward you with the shield in return.
