Oblivious To Oblivion
We all knew it was coming due to a steady stream of leaks, but not all of us really cared. I certainly didn’t. I’ve never played Oblivion or really cared all that much about 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Elder Scrolls.
Okay, fine, I played a couple hundred hours of Skyrim as a teenager over a bunch of playthroughs, but who didn’t? I was only 10 when Oblivion first released, and I didn’t grow up around other gamers or have any gamer friends. Skyrim was the f🐼irst time I’d ever heard the words ‘Elder Scrolls’.
This has always felt like a big gap in my video game knowledge. After all, Oblivion is iconic, one of the best games of its generation, a crucial part of an equally iconic series. I’ve just never had the time or inclination to play this particular old, landmark game that I missed in my🎶 youth – and believe me, I missed a lot of them.

But now, this weakness is an advantage. I’m just one of an entire generation of gamers who’ve played Skyrim and nothing else, and today, we’re coming out on top. Everybody who’s already played Oblivion will be replaying this game, comparing it to the experience in their memories. Sure, they get to play th♌rough a prettier, more compelling version of a game they already love, but it’s still that game at its core.
But me? I don’t know a damn thing about Oblivion, and since the chronology doesn’t really matter to the experience of the game, this is basically𒆙 a new mainline game for me. I get a pretty, fairly modernised Elder Scrolls game to while my hours away in, experiencing it as if it were entirely new. Everybody who’s played Oblivion has to wait till the ne🅷xt Elder Scrolls game to get something new, and that will probably be in like, five years. But I’m chilling. I’ve got a new game in the series.
I usually complain about how many remasters of games we’re getting inst꧋ead of original stuff, but Oblivion is old enough to warrant one.
I’m not an Elder Scrolls fan right now, just because I didn’t grow up playing these games. But thanks to this remaster, maybe I can be. Maybe when a Morrowind remaster gets shadow dropped in a couple of years, I’ll be cheering alongside you, because I’ve been spurred into caring about this long-running series by a remaster of a game I never got to play as a💯 kid. No promises, but maybe this will change me. Either way, I’m winning because 𓂃I took my sweet time getting around to an old game.
