So what’s your favorite 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Nintendo Switch 2 game? Are you finally getting into 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Cyberpunk 2077? Yeah, that one’s pretty good. Smart to play it now after all those patches! How about 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut? Great entry in a great series! They call it “168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Like a Dragon” now! Oh! And then there’s 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mario Kart World! So many fun courses! So much to explo🐭re! That’ll be a way to relax for yearsꦓ.
All great games, all sure to have a long shelf life. But none of𓄧 them, not one of them, compares to my favorite Switch 2 launch game: downloading old Switch games to see how they run and then probably never playing them again.
I’m Not Interested In Updates, I’m Just Glad My Switch Games Work
You might be thinking, “Yes, of course! 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Breath of the Wild and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Tears of the Kingdom got Switch 2 updates!” Nope! 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:That’s not what I’m talking about! Oh, don’t get me wrong: those are two of the greatest games ever made. Love both of them to death. Some of the few moments of pleasure I have left as an adult came from pressing an expensive plasti♔c figurine into a controller so Link could get extra meat to cook with.

Nintendo Switch 2 Review: A Pಌredictable Yet🐬 Undeniably Impressive Evolution
After spending ♕a long week with new console we are ready to give our verdict on the Nintendo Switch 2.
I’m glad those games are updated and running better than ever. Same goes for games with smaller updates like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Super Mario Odyssey or, I don’t know, Arms. Remember Arms? Pretty sure it was a fighting game. We can’t win ‘em al🅠l, folks. And nor ar♏e those updates what I’m talking about.
I’m saying I’m full-on sicko downloading old games and digging out cursed Switch cartridges (I’m not calling them Game-Keys because ꧃I have some self-respect). You see, the thing is, a lot of old Switch games run better on Switch 2 by default. Not all of them. Not always in noticeable ways. And, with a weird propensity to crash, not always a net positive. But for some - a few! - old Switch games, it’s like running a wonky PC game on slightly better settings. And, let’s be real, that’s kind of, almost what the Switch 2 is doing anyway.
Rather than me buying 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Civilization 7 on the Switch 2, I’m re-playing 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Civilization 6 because I want to see that game ⛎run smoother without a patch. And it does! On Switch, Civilization 6 was playable, but only in the sense that I would have to use a word like ‘playable’. On Switch 2, it runs far better with chop and even less waiting. Instead of pulling out a novel and learning a new language between turns, I actually have to pay attention because the processor works faster than a depressed mouse running on a wheel.
The Switch Used To Be A Last Resort, But The Switch 2 Changes Everything
So, yes, I want to clap like a windup toy monkey whenever XCOM 2’s frame rate is smooth despite also owning it on devices that already made it slide like butter. That’s another game I got for maybe ten dollars during a random e𒐪Shop sale. Did I expect to play it all the way thr💧ough again on Switch? No, why would I make smart purchases I planned to use?
It was just fun to have, but missions after the first three minutes ran in a manner which I’d describe as ‘pretty not good in any way’. Now, it’s solid! I wouldn’t say it looks that much better - the Switch 2 isn’t pulling off miracles of graphics processing - but it does actually function ✤as a better product of entertainment. And, all joking aside, we’re all aware of how bad a lot of Switch 1 ports were.

I've Played Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour So You Don't Have To, And Now I Feel Like You All Owe Me Money
Welcome Tour is a bad ga💫me, so bad it's barely a game at all, and it seems happy ღwith that reality.
Hell, some games like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Shin Megami Tensei 5 started on the Switch and they were often the worst version when others came out. Is it still the worst version? Probably? But God that frame rate has improved with Switch 2.♏ And by ‘improved’, I mean ‘is now actually what we’d call acceptable’. It almost makes me want to play through it again, something I’ll likely foolishly try over a weekend and give up after spending twenty hours getting to the good part. I wouldn’t say it makes it feel like a new game, but it does make it feel like finding an old cartridge you forgot about in the bottom of a plastic bin.
I’m Discovering Games I Didn’t Even Know I’d Already Discovered
Speaking of which - Skyrim! I know everybody is all about Oblivion right now, and that’s great, I’m proud ⛎of you, but I’ve literally lost at least ten hours this week playing through the first bits of Skyrim because I wanted to see how it runs on the Switch 2. And how does it run? Fine! Pretty much the same it ran on Switch except it, again, feels a bit smoother and like loading times are faster between areas.
Which… just makes me want to find more places and shove as much as possible into a house and rush to more crowded battles. As I’ve repeated multiple times, I literally own better ways to play this sort of thing, but why should I do that whe🌸n a somewhat mediocre version of a game now is a somewhat grea🐭t one?
As much as I’m writing this column in a quasi-joke cadence, I need you to know that this is all real. I’ve barely touched some launch games because I’m so eager to find out which ports I own suck less now! I’ve spent more time in Warhammer 40🥂,000: Mechanicus on Switch 2 than I have on Switch. I’ll be completely honest: I can’t even tell you if that one runs better. It runs fine now!

Your Player Two Won't Need A Switch 2 Or Their Own Copy Of The Game To Be Pauline In Donkey Kong Bananza
Pauline will be playable in Banaza, and whoever 🍌controls her won't need to own the gam🌌e or have to play on a Switch 2.
Same goes for Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf, a game that I don’t know when I bought and didn’t realize had be🌄en erased from history. It’s less good than Mechanicus, but it sure does load up! Who knows the last time my license for the digital download of the game had been exercised, but it is now! And I’m loving it!
Is this stupid? Yes. Of course it’s stupid. I spent $450 of my own money on a new console and my greatest joy is seeing what games I bought years ago now run at 30fps rather than 20. But somebody has to check how Night Trap and Corpse Killer run on the Switch 2! Somebody needs to run Garfield Kart in a personal Digital Foundry setting that doesn’t have any profess♏ional tools and/or knowledge.
I’m a man 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:who loves terrible, nasty game ports. But I also love when they get better for unexpected reasons - especially without any cost to me. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Witcher 3 on Switch was my favorite way to play because they made one of the greatest games of all time run on an aging iPhone 8. I love that it runs even better now. I don’t care that my computer could show me those three messed up witches in 4K with nary a frame dropped. I 𝓰want to see the worst version of it run just a little better, as if by magic.
