As we all expected, some owners are already totally ignoring 's recentไ firm warnings and choosing tౠo remove the console's film layer. Spoiler alert, Nintendo was right all along.

After years of rumours, speculation, and leaks, last week finally gave us what we'd all been waiting for - 🍨the Nintendo Switch 2. As the sales numbers have already proven, the Sw🌠itch 2 🐻has gotten over its high-priced teething issues and stock shortages, and seems to be a hit with most players🦂. That seemingly isn't stopping some from messing with the console, however.

🍨Despite entirely staying๊ out of the console's surprising amount of discourse, Nintendo was vocal about how to carefully use the Switch 2 before it launched. One of the main warnings it issued was about the handheld's seemingly in💦nocuous film layer, which Nintendo made sur🌼e everyone knew not to remove. Well, it seems some people 🅺missed the memo.

Listen To Nintendo - Don't Peel That Film Layer Off Your Switch 2

It Might Look Like Nothing Happens, But It's More Helpful Than You Think

, YouTube channel JerryRigEvery♓thing recently shared a video where he . The process is very painful to watch ﷺfor anyone who owns the console and is currently treating it tenderly, but it's an interesting watch to see what happens.

Well, to be specific, what doesn't happen... at first. Removing the Switch 2's film layer s🎉eemingly requires a ton of strength and effort (and a knife in JerryRigEv꧑erything's case), but nothing immediately seems to be wrong with the Switch 2 once it's been taken off. Of course, we didn't expect it to be instantly bricked or anything, but it's a little anticlimactic to begin with.

JerryRigE🧜verything's video at least makes it very clear that the film layer isn't going to come off on its own. That's one less thing to be worried abou♏t, I guess.

Nintendo's warnings are eveಞntually proven true in the video, though, after being hit with a big pair of pliers 50 times. It seems the Switch 2 is very durable, but in the event of it being damaged, that glass is going to go everywhere and need the film layer to keep things safe.

To be fair, tꦡhis is exactly what Nintendo said would happen when it issued the warning about the film layer. Nintendo specifically warned that the film layer was to prevent glass from going everywhere in case anything was damaged. It seems that'꧒s ༒going to take a lot of effort to achieve, but you definitely want to keep that film layer on, no matter how tempting it might be.
