What Are Map Data Chips Used For?

The areas on the world map are displayed as colored blocks, and a collection of these blocks forms a zone. In each zone, there will be a Shanhai robot, either functioning or out of service, from which you can obtain a Map Data Chip corresponding to that zone.

After obtaining a Map Data Chip, you can take it back to Shanhai 9000 in the Four Seasons Pavilion.

Shanhai 9000 will analyze it and unlock details about that zone's map. This will then display a collection bar at the bottom left of the map that provides details like the presence of a mini-boss and the number𝕴 of items you can find in the area.

All Map Data Chip Locations

To hand the Map Data Chips to Shanhai 9000, you need to repair it first for 1,000 Jins in the Four Seasons Pavilion. Once you've repaired Shanhai 9000, it will provide the map data for the safe zone and will ask you to retrieve more Map Data Chips that are spread across New Kunlun.

Where To Find The Power Reservoir Chip

The Power Reservoir Chip is held by a Shanhai 9000 in the Power Reservoir (Central) area. This will likely be the first Map Data Chip you'll obtain. The robot is standing next to the Light Bridge that leads you to the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:boss Yingzhao and Kuafu, the first Sol.

Request the chip from the robot, and it will kindly ask you to consider paying 800 Jins, so it can give you the ch🅘ip and make another copy for itself, as it can't function without one. Otherwise, you can take it by force if you aren't feeling too kind.

Most of the time, you will be presented with the choice to pay 800 Jins or remove the chip forcibly from the Shanhai robot. Choosing the latter rewards you with the You Bastard... achievement.

Where To Find The Agricultural Zone Chip

To get the Agricultural Zone Chip, you first need to work your way to the Grotto of Scriptures (Entry) area through Lake Yaochi Ruins, where you'll have a short interaction with the Sol Goumang after entering an elevator.

Goumang's pawns will destroy the elevator, and it will fall to the area below known as the Greenhouse. This is where you'll find the data chip in the possession oﷺf another Shanhai 9000. The robot NPC is located in the top right section of the ꦅarea.

Where To Find The Warehouse Zone Chip

The third Map Data Chip is known as the Warehouse Zone Chip, and you'll obtain it from a Shanhai 9000 standing next to the Root Node in the Outer Warehouse.

To reach the Outer Warehouse, you first need to reach the Factory (Great Hall) through the Cortex Center, where you can take a lift down to the Factory (Underground). From there, p꧟roceed left to reach the Outer Warehouse.

Along the way, you'll also learn the ability to dash in the air, which is 🅘also needed to get to the Out𝓰er Warehouse.

Where To Find The Abandoned Mines Chip

The Abandoned Mines Chip can be looted from a destroyed Shanhai robot in the Factory (Underground) area. To find it, proceed right from the Root 🅷Node and climb the wooden platforms. Once you reach the top, head right once more, air dash across the crimson spikes, a📖nd grab the Map Data Chip.

Where To Find The Transmutation Zone Chip

The Transmutation Zone Chip is found in the Factory (Production Area), which is right above the Factory (Great Hall). However, getting there requires the Unbounded Counter skill, which you'll acquire after defeating the Kanghui boss as you progress through the game.

With this skill, you can turn off the blazing fire that engulfs the Factory (Great Hall), allowing you to access the upper section of the area, ♋where you'll find an elevator that will take you to the Production Area. After that, simply work your way to the bottom right of the area to find the Shanhai 9000 that has the data chip.

Unlike the other robots, this one will start shooting crimson beams at you as soon as you interact with it. To defeat it and claim the data chip, you must use th🤪e Unbounded Counter ability to parry the incoming beam and redirect it back at the r꧅obot.

Where To Find The Central Core Chip

After navigating Lady Ethereal's Soulscape from the Cortex Center, Yi will face her in a boss battle. Once you beat Lady Ethereal, you'll obtain her Sol Seal and return to the Cortex Center. From there, head right to find a Shanhai robot that has the Central Core Chip.

The Shanhai 9000 won't spawn until the Cortex Center changes into Lady Ethereal's Soulscape and y𒈔ou beat this Sol.

Where To Find The Grotto Of Scriptures Chip

To get the seventh Map Data Chip, progress the story to the point where you're able to fight the Sol Ji in a boss battle in the Ancient Stone Pillar. You'll reach this area through a door that is right above the Root Node in Grotto൲ of Scriptures (West).

Once you defeat the Sol, you can find a Shanhai 1000 to the right of the room. This one will give you the Grotto of Scripture Chip.

The Ji boss fight happens near the endgame.

Where To Find The Empyrean District Chip

The Empyrean District Chip is found in the eastern part of the Empyrean District (Living Area). You can easily reach this 😼area if you take the exit in the top left corner of the Grotto of Scriptures (West). This will take you to the 🐎Empyrean District (Passages) area, where you can ride a lift to the Living Area.

Where To Find The Research Institute Chip

To get the final Map Data Chip, you must first obtain the Super Mutant Buster by beating the Fuxi boss in the Sanctum area 🐻of the Empyrean D🐻istrict. This weapon will allow you to permanently kill the mutant that blocks your way to an elevator in the bottom left corner of the area.

Past the elevator, you can grab the Elevator Access Token. You'll need it to ride the elevator to the Tiando Research Center, where you can collect the Research Institute Chip from a destroyed Shanhai robot.

How To Get The Found You Achievement

Now that you've obtained the eight Map Data Chips, immediately deliver them to Shanhai 9000 at the Pavilion hub before you can continue with the story.

Once you've done that, head to the bottom left corner of the Tianhuo Research Center, where you can enter Eigong's Soulscape and interact with her.

After regaining your senses, exit the Tianhuo Research Center while surviving a gauntlet of enemies to reach the Tiando Research Center. Shanhai 9000 will have relocated to the bottom left part of the area. Once you find him there, you'll obtain the Found You achievement.
