Unlock the best skills for your journey and transform Yi into a mꦬartial arts master in Nine S﷽ols.

There are ten major bosses that are your key targets as you progress through New Kunlun. Nine of them were once noble warriors of justice before the corruption of their powers made them the tyrannical rulers of New Kunlun known as the Nine Sols or members of the Council. It's up to Yi, the warrior hero, to bring them down and save the world from a grim fate.

10 Yingzhao

Facing off against Yingzhao in Nine Sols

Your first major boss and the one that'll beat you into shape getting into the combat mechanics of Nine Sols. Yingzhao is a large centaur-like monstrous warrior brandishing a brutal spear for large sweeping attacks. While Yingzhao is not a member of the Nine Sols, he is a necessary mark for you to reach Kuafu, the only member you don't fight.

As the tutorial boss, Yingzhaꦍo gives you a taste of what many of the main bosses will do and how to prepare yourself for the fights ahead. He has long overarching swings, swipes, and choreographed thrusts during the first phase of the battle. Like many of the bosses you'll face later on, Yingzhao has a second phase, healing all his health and gaining new attacks such as galloping through the battlefield and charging his spear's attacks, changing the time of some of his attacks.

9 Kanghui

Kanghui is a horrifically mutated and grotesque 'thing' that's trapped alive and perpetually invincible by a gruesome contraption. In the first phase of the battle, it spews out fleshy blobs that morph into minion monsters that attack you. When Kanghui is at half health, you can then use a computer on either side to take out the rest of its health.

Kanghui will regenerate to full health after thi🌠s and phase two is similar to the first except more different monsters will spawn and new attacks, including an explosion of tendrils and flesh, will keep you away from its stationary head. These new attacks and summoned monsters make phases two and three overwhelming.

8 Ji

Ji in Nine Sols

Another graceful member of the Nine Sols, Ji uses spherical orbs that you can hit to determine his next moves and attacks. These range from projectile lines that you ca♈n easily deflect to black holes that you need to run away from while watching for other attacks. Several attacks can cause severe internal damage before Ji finishes with a fierce ♏direct hit that can put you out of commission. Once the series of attacks is complete, the cycle continues.

Here's how to unlock the 💦detailed map in Nine Sols.

Phase two introduces a new set of formidable attacks, such as a larger black hole that fires laser projectiles just to throw🔯 off your focus. Ji will also summon his staff for more hard-hitting attacks. Ji is best at throwing a plethora of wild card attacks to the mix in his attacks, but they also all leave him open to free hits and talisman strikes.

7 Jiequan

A strong member of the Nine Sols, Jiequan is a peerless warrior seeking for more strength to change his body. Optionally, you can give yourself the edge in battle by adding the Gene Eradicator to his transmutation chamber, he'll be poisoned and lose health throughout the battle. He's still a fearsome adversary to face, summoning spears, daggers, and swords to attack at different ranges and distances.

A the end of phase one, he'll heal from a flask and resume the battle with several new attacks that'll keep you on the defensive. Although he heals for phase two, the poison still affects him, giving you openings to use talisman explosion and other devastating attacks.

6 🐷 🧸 Yuanlao Piloting The Rending Claw

Yuanlao Piloting the Rending Claw in znine Sols

Yuanlao is another member of the Nine Sols, and surprisingly is the second one you don't directly take on in a fight. Instead, he pilots a large machine called the Rending Claw. The Rending Claw spins and slices around, both attacks are deflectable. Other attacks to consider during the fight are vertically moving lasers that need to be avoided.

After you make it through and deplete the Rending Claw's health, it will be restored for phase two. Attacks will be faster with more diverse patterns. The lasers become more unorthodox, and the walls will periodically close in as well, shortening the space you can travel. The second phase is also when more target reticles that need to be avoided are used to stun the Rending Claw for free hits.

5 Xingtian

Xingtian in Nine Sols

A fearsome battleaxe-wielding demon-like warrior in league with the Nine Sols, Xingtian has several versatile attacks that also affect the battlefield you're in. Aside from just swinging his axe, he can also charge his weapon so that, once it strikes the ground, it'll emit several spherical shock waves. This forces you to be in the air or stay evasive.

His axe combos come hard and savagely quick once he gets started and it's difficult to get the timing down for parries and counters. To make matters more infuriating, he can also heal if left stationary during a series of successful hits, forcing you to keep pressure on him.

4 Gourmang

Yi surrounded by Gourmang and her Jiangshi puppets in Nine Sols

Gourmang is a sadistically fearsome boss to face. She is also one of several bosses who doesn't fight alone, with her are two Jianshi warriors that she manipulates present for the duration of the fight. You'll be forced to face these puppets first while she gorges on a platter of eyeballs, only coming down to resurrect her puppets when you manage to KO one of them.

This moment is when you have an opening of opportunity to cause damage to her since she doesn't directly attack you. While this makes fighting her not too insufferable, it doesn't help that the Jianshi that isn't knocked out will still be a prevalent problem.

3 Fuxi And N🐽uwa

The sibling pair Fuxi and Nuwa are an interesting a fierce battle to experience. For the entire fight, you fight Fuxi, a large hulking figure with a malformed arm for large sweeping attacks to the mace he has over his shoulder for other attacks. Nuwa doesn't do much until the second phase of the fight.

In this part of the fight, Fuxi is still the primary target, but this time, Nuwa uses her flute to support her brother with damaging shockwaves that track your position and summon spectral snakes to take you down while Fuxi continues the same pattern of attacks on you. Luckily, once you finish up wi🍨th Fuxi, Nuwa will end the battl▨e.

2 🐽 Lady Ethereal

One of the most beautiful, surreal, and striking bosses in Nine Sols. Lady Ethereal has ⭕thr⛎ee increasingly difficult phases, in which both she and the environment around her change and twist progressively. In phase two, she starts using doubles of herself ﷽to strike at you from different positions. When you deflect the real Ethereal, she will be staggered for some time, letting you get in as many hits as possible.

Phase three is very much the same, except with a much more intense number of duplicates that swarm you with attacks to deflect while forcing you to pay attention to finding the real one. She'll also use a combination of duplicate attacks, swiping and slamming into the ground before unleashing a blast of crimson energy that destroys the floor under you. Maintaining your deflects against the duplicates while waiting to stun her for attacks is the best strategy to finish the fight.

1 Eigong

The final boss of your journey and the fearsome master of the sword. Eigong is the final test of all the skills you've developed throughout the many battles in New Kunlun with the other Sols. Fighting her is very reminiscent to the fighting Lord Isshin in Sekiro. She has many sword attacks, from Iaido-style sword techniques to swift stabbing combos.

Taking her down for phase two has her unveil more formidable attacks, from slashing waves to explosive shock waves of crimson energy that erupt from her nꦜow flaming sword. Battling Eigong will be a true test of your skill and mastery in deflection and talisman blasts. She can also drop puddles of fire in her path to stop you from just lunging in to attack.
