The new Trackmania game is not a subscription🌼 model - you just have to keep paying for it.
Trackmania, a new reboot, was announced last week. You can grab the base game for free, but you’ll have to pay for access to the track editor in full. It’s $9.99🎃 per year for full access to th♎e track editor, or $29.99 per year for Club Access, which includes racing leagues for Club members, exclusive skins, and more.
Fans🍒 of the track building game said they would rather own the game o🤡utright than pay into a subscription-based model. Ubisoft said that . They are claiming that, once the year you’ve paid for is over, you just have to ‘buy the game☂ again.’ Adding to the confusion, Ubisoft’s pricing page states that access to the track editor is available on the free tier, but doesn’t clarify that players can only save one track. For full access to Trackmania’s track building feature, the highlight of🍰 the game for many players, you must come up with the $9.99 a year.
The reboot wi🌱ll have three tiers for players to choose from:
Starter Access (free): includes q🍎uarterly campaigns, free solo and multiplayer racing, 25 tracks, ability to earn medals and rank, test out other player’s tracks in Arca🌟de mode, and more.
Standard Access ($9.99): includes a🌠ll starter access content, a Track of the Day option, full access to track editors, daily competitions, and more.
Club Access ($29.99 per year or $59.99 for three years): includes all starter and standard access content, plus clubs, exclusive content, skin customization, special campaigns, and online rooms, exclusive training tracks, and competitions, abili🏅ty to create your own club and host events, and access to the Open Grand League and the qualifiers for ꦉthe Trackmania Grand League.
Fans can preorder Trackmania as of now, via Epic Games or Uplay.
Releasing on July 1st, Trackmania’s pricing strategy⛎ appears to be a risky move. With the pandemic and related recessi🌟on taking over people’s lives, it doesn’t seem like publishers can afford to alienate their fans.
