My family plays it every year at Christmas. I don't know, we're weird like that. I can relate to this little indie record because I didn't really want a lot for Christmas this year either. I also don't want a lot for my birthday which, coincidentally, is today. And anyone whose birthday falls between December 25 and January 1 will agree that our birthdays might as well not exist. What, I'm supposed to specifically not ask for a gift for Christmas just to ask for it three days later instead? Cool. So this year, I want a mulligan - I don't need a lot for my birthday, and I won't even wish for snow. But at one point next year, I am owed my birthday present. Plans for the game leaked in August 2022, but we've had no official word aside from the confirmation it exists in April 2022. The leak suggested it would see Lara working with a🤪 team of younger tomb raid💎ers, which could be a great character development for her that focuses on her warmth and wit in ways the Survivor trilogy didn't quite get the balance right for. Conversely, it could be something along the lines of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Marvel's Avengers or 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Suicide Squad, forcing 168澳💫洲幸运5开奖网:multiplayer battle pass economy and upgradeꦯs into wha🐷t should be a single-player experience, derailing everything that makes the series special.
Or, of course, the leaks could be completely wron🥀g and the game might have nothing of the sort in it.
All we know of the new Tomb Raider for sure is 🐻that it will try to marry the Survivor storyline with the Legend trilogy storyline, which feels logistically difficult. Survivor was a reboot that takes place canonically before the other games, so weaving it into stories involving an older, more experienced Lara who canonically has a different origin will be tough. Most likely, it will continue where Shadow left off but, as the cut ending teased, introduce characters from the Legend trilogy like Natla, presenting them as newcomers rather than having a history with Lara.
Ten Years On, Tomb Raider 2013 Still Holds The Key To The Series' Future
On the tenth anniversary of the Tomb Raider reboot, how c🦋an the first game help shape the sequel in the series?
At least, this is what I always say is ‘all we know for sure’ whenever I write speculative articles about Tomb Raider's future. What we also know is that Embracer Group is at the wheel, and is liable to drive the car of🐼f the cliff at any given moment. We also know that this is the longest gap between games in Tomb Raider's history, and while that is in part because of the inefficient quest for impossible scope involved in modern video game development, it also puts the series in a perilous position.
Tomb Raider has always been one of the most iconic series in gaming, but the Survivor trilogy didn't hit the heights of its potential and ended with a whimper through Shadow. It needs a big showing soon, and I hope 2024 is the year. C'mon, it's my birthday. Lara Croft is one of gaming's most legendary characters, and her legacy has been fumbled this past decade. Even Rise, in my mind one of her best games, never got the love it deserved, and it feels like Tomb Raider is fast becoming as forgotten a relic as the mystical items she hunts.
The original trilogy is getting a remaster, launching (fittingly enough for a series so beloved) on Valentine's Day. That's good, but I've never really believed the theory that these remakes serve to test the waters for a new game - they're just another cash stream relying on nostalgia. If they were really testing the waters, we'd have another Spyro by now, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Demon’s Souls 2 would be in the works alongside a new Kloana, and the studio behind 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Crash N.Sanity and THPS 1+2 wouldn't have been rewarded by being shoved into the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Call of Duty machine.
Besides, the waters don't need tested for Tomb Raider - we know a new one is being made. I'll take the remastered trilogy, because I'll take anything at this point, but it doesn't count as my birthday present. In 2024, I want the launch of, or at least concrete news of, the next Tomb Raider. I know devs shouldn't be crunching and games are ready when they're ready and a delayed game is eventually good, but we're now over five years out from the last Tomb Raider and these games should take 20 hours to complete at the most. This is not sustainable. For my birthday I want a sustainable video game industry - let's start with the next Tomb Raider.
