In typical Nintendo fashion, the studio implied it was done with amiibo earlier this year but didn't officially say anything. The two new Splatoon 3 two-packs were revealed on Friday morning, first by Nintendo Japan and then confirmed for a Western release shortly after when the same reveal was made via Nintendo UK's Twitter account. If the reveal is anything like Thursday's two-way Joy-Con charging stand announcement, the new amiibo will likely be shown off by Nintendo of America later today so 𝄹it coincides with people being awake to see it.

The four Splatoon 3 characters being turned into amiibo are Pearl, Marina, Callie, and Marie. Paired up and being sold as two-packs, the Alterna set includes Callie and Marie, and the Side Order set has Pearl and Marina. Both sets will be available to buy from September 5, 2024 - and likely be up for pre-order before then like other new amiibo - but it's unclear how much they will cost. Nintendo's Japan store has them priced at 4,400 yen each. That's roughly $28 which is in keeping with how much other amiibo two-packs sell for.
Nintendo's Not Done With Amiibo Yet
The amiibo are likely being released to coincide with Splatoon 3's Grand Festival. A huge in-game event that begins on September 13 during which players will need to choose between the past, present, and future. Other merch connected to the event has already been announced, and now the amiibo will be joining it. What exactly the amiibo will do when activated hasn't been revealed, but I'm assuming it will be connected to the Grand Festival in some way.
What many of us assumed would be the last Splatoon amiibo released, at least on the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Nintendo Switch, were a big hit, turning Big Man and two other characte🙈rs into 🐼collectible figures. Sold as a set, the trio of amiibo was incredibly popular, so probably safe to assume this pair of two-packs will be highly sought after too. Great that Nintendo's amiibo run continues, but now even more confusing that the likes of Wonder and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Super Mario RPG didn't get some of their own amiibo.
