In The W, you have a few options to dive into WNBA action. You can select standard Play Now with the current teams in the le𒁃ague, hop online to exert your dominance, or create your own player and become a WNBA legend. Jump Right In — Play Now Mode
Diving 🌊straight into Play Now and checking out the 12 different teams should be the first thing you do in The W. Developing a general understanding of which teams are among the cream of the crop will not only help you in choosing a squad for offline or online play, but it will also help when you create your own WNBA player.

In the WNBA, eight teams make the playoffs. From this past regular season, the postseason field included the Sun, Aces, Lynx, Storm, Mercury, Sky, Wings, and Liberty. Of those eight, the Connecticut Sun has ranked the number one ♌seed and finished with the best record in the league.

This is entirely different from MyCareer, where you don’t have a say on 🌸where you get drafted, but in The W, you’ll have full control over which squad you want to suit up for.
Which position you’d like to play will dictate which team you ♕should select if you&rsquo🅷;re looking to maximize your playing time. But unlike MyCareer, your player will immediately become a starter for the team instead of having to spend time on the bench.
After you’ve selected which team to play for, it’s tim💫e to create your build.
Creating a WNBA buiꦓld is a bit more simple than MyCareer. Once you select which position you’d like to play, you’ll⭕ be given a choice of ten different player types:
- Three-Level Scorer
- Offensive Threat
- Sharpshooter
- Playmaking Shot Creator
- Lockdown Defender
- Two-Way Playmaker
- Slashing Playmaker
- Inside Out Playmaker
- Two-Way Slasher
- Three-And-D Point
Your offensive and defensive ratings will be heavily influenced by which plaꩵyer type you choose. The ratings can be slightly adjusted based on your player’s height and wingspan, but you won’t have the ability to manually adjust areas of focus, like wanting to 🦩become an excellent three-point shooter instead of dumping points into layups. The game ultimately locks you in, so to speak, to the designated player type, so choose carefully.
Once you’ve finished creating your player, you’ll be directed to a central menu that’ll contain everything you need in becoming a top player in the WNBA. You won’t have access to The City or Neighborhood to locate quests, but will instead have the off-court events listed for you. These ev♕ents will help improve y🎶our wealth, popularity, and chemistry, but you have to play a certain number of games before attending them. But on the court, you’ll have the opportunity to work one-on-one with fellow WNBA legends to improve your game and become a better player.
While The W experience doesn’t go as in-depth into the side hustle gigs that MyCareer does, you still can become a social icon off the court. There are five jobs that you can progress through during your playing career: entrepꦛreneur, fashion mogul, global icon, ꧒influencer, and coach. Ultimately, the WNBA MyCareer has a bit less content in the grand scheme of things, but it should still be experienced if you’re a fan of basketball.
