Before you can get into the mining mechanic in My Time at Sandrock, you’ll first need to do Yan a pretty huge favor. He promised Rocky, the leade🃏r over at Eufala Salvage, a pair of Crane Lifts, and he’s not yet delivered. Thankfully, you a🐷nd Mi-an are the new builders in town, more than capable of finishing the work.

Here are some handy tips t🐼o help you get started in My Time at Sandrock.
You’ll need some brand new resources to begin building Rocky’s cranes, though, which can be found within Eufala Salvage and processed back at home. Once you’ve delivered the cranes, the Abandoned Ruins is yours to begin exploring for long-hidd🌌en treasures within.
How To Begin Building Rocky's Crane
One of your first overarching missions in My Time at Sandrock begins only a few days into your stay, when you enter the Commerce Guild after getting y♛our town tour 🦩from Jasmine. For us, this happened the following morning.
When you go in, you and Mi-an stumble upon a humorous scene of Yan being held up by Rocky, the leader over at Eufala Salvage not far from your workshop.
Rocky is unhappy because Yan is late delivering the two cranes Rocky and his team ordered.
Yan divides the work between you and Mi-an, with each of you making one of the Crane Lifts he promised Rocky.
You'll unlock the Crane Lift blueprint for your Assembly Station at the workshop, but you're going to need materials from Eufala Salvage to complete the work. Rocky offers you a one-week pass into Eufala Salvage.
Past this initial week, the pass costs 200 Gols per week, so be sure to complete this task in a timely fashion if you don't have many Gols yet.
As with the other items you've built at your Assembly Station so far, select the blueprint at the Assembly Station to bring🀅 up the outline of the crane, and begin gathering resources.
To build Rocky's Crane Lift in My Time at Sandrock, you'll need a total of:
- Eight Bricks.
- Five Wooden Sticks.
- Six Thick Ropes.
- Four Bearings
- 5 Copper Sticks.
Make Bricks In The Furnace
To make eight total Bricks to include in the Crane Lift, you'll need a total of 32 Stone.
These can be found from Gravel around the desert, or in Stone Scrap from Eufala Salvage. You'll need your Pickhammer to get it.
Process Wood Into Wooden Sticks
Using a total of 15 pieces of Wood, you'll need to make five Wooden Sticks. This can be done at the Worktable.
To find Wood, use your Axe on Wood Scrap either inside of or around Eufala Salvage.
Don't cut down the trees near your Workshop! With plant life so scarce in the desert, you'll be punished for wasting limited resources by cutting down living trees.
Buy The Recipe For Thick Rope At The Commerce Guild Store
Before you can craft the six Thick Ropes you'll need for the Crane Lift in My Time at Sandrock, you'll first need to buy the recipe. It's for sale if you interact with the register to the right of Yan's desk over inside the Commerce Guild.
Once you have the Thick Rope blueprint, you can grab 24 Plant Fibers along the way home by cutting down bushes with your Axe, before turning them into Thick Rope at the Worktable.
Recycle Mechanical Scrap To Get Bearings
You won't have seen these quite yet until you have access to Eufala Salage, but you need four Bearings for the Crane Lift.
You'll find them within Mechanical Scrap piles, which can be obtained from the Mixed Junk Piles in Eufala Salvage. Your chance t🤡o get them is a bit random, but this is your best shot until you have better 🧸tools later in the game.
Each pile of Mechanical Scrap has a high chance to drop at least one Bearing when put through the Recycler at your Workshop.
Recycle Copper Scrap To Get Copper Sticks
Finally, the last few ingredients you'll need are five Copper Sticks.
To get these, simply harvest Copper Scrap from Eufala Salvage's Mixed Junk Piles, and then take it home to process in the Recycler with a high chance to ge🅷t at least one Copper Stick per pile of Scrap.
It's unlikely you'll have access to one yet, as a Research Center discovery, but Processors can also make Copper Sticks if you ever need this recipe again - which you may, if it comes up as a sporadic Commission.
Delivering The Crane Lift Opens The Abandoned Ruins
Finally, once you've finished assembling the crane at home, be sure to grab the finished product and then head back over to Eufala Salvage once again. Wheꦜn you arrive, Mi-an will be there with her completed crane, too.
You both install your cranes in a cutscene at the edge of the cliff at Eufala Salvage, when Rocky tells you that this is how he and his team access the mines below.
He offers you a brief explanation of how mining works, which serℱves as your introduction to the mining mechanic in My Time ജat Sandrock.
Whenever you're ready, take the crane down to the Abandoned Ruins to begin digging for relics and putting your new minin♋g skills to use💝!
