Battle Strategy
Shaggy is a versatile fighter, who excels in a horizontal brawling game. He has decent Aerial options, but does not particularly excel in the air compared to some other characters, and you will want to remain grounded to take advantage of your strong close range moves. Charging Rage should be a high priority for you, as it will significantly empower your Special moves, and opponents should always respect it. The distance traveled on an Enraged Chiller Instinct Kick is fantastic, and you should be able to land some good damage from the Weakened effect. A good strategy is not to spend your Rage immediately, but approach your opponent, kee♋ping them on their toes as to what option you are going to pick.
Your Sandwich is good for ranged pressure, so try to look for opportunities to safely punish opponents with a quick throw, but be careful not to spam it, as this will make you very predictable. Shaggy has some good mix up options, so try to keep opponents guessing by varying the range at which you engage. Chiller Instinct Kick can be a great way ⛄to approach, but don't throw it out too often, as it makes you very susceptible to being punished.
Shaggy is a well-rounded fighter, but some opponents can be particularly difficult for you. Velma's projectile game can be tricky, as she is likely going to be out-ranging you on most attacks. Try to Dodge in close and start brawling with her, to take advantage of your quick Tilt options. Characters with weapons such as Finn or Tom and Jerry will tend to outrange you vertically, so try to stay grounded as much as possible and hit them with some well-timed Chiller Instinct Kicks. Superman, while slow, is dangerous up close, so making good use of your Sandwich is key to keeping him at a safe distance.

Shaggy's recommended Perk setup is:
- Signature Perk: Hangry Man
- Perk: Lumpy Space Punch
- Perk: Kryptonian Skin
- Perk: Snowball Effect
This is your standard set up for Solo play, provided you have not trained any other characters perks. Some other options are Make It Rain, Dog! from Reindog's Mastery, which will increase your projectile movement speed, although this is primarily best used in Doubles, and Speed Force Assist, if you prefer some extra mobility over defenses. The combo of the One Last Zoinks Signature Perk and Last Stand may look appealing, but relying on going over 100 damage is not a good game plan for Shaggy, as he is not one of the heaviest characters, and it will not be as consistent as generating quicker Rages through Hangry Man.
