Although the new characters and mechan⭕ics have been widely praised (as have the datamined fighters like D▨affy ꧋Duck and Samurai Jack), pretty much everything else has been fairly met with compla♑ints and backlash.

Multiversus developer Player Fir🅺st Games is blaming a bug for a controvers༒ial microtransaction.

There are a lot of issues that MultiVersus players have with the game right now, but the ꦰbiggest is its monetisation which, just like with Mortal Kombat 1 and Suicide Squad, has been deemed greedy and expensive. The latest example of this comes i🌠n the form of purchasable Toast, .

MultiVersus Players Really Don't Like Purchasable Toast

One of the most unique elements of the original MultiVersus open beta was its Toast mechanic, which let players send a little bit of love to anyone they'd just battled with as a fun way of saying GG. That mechanic has returned for the relaunch, but its importance has been played down a ton, with most players seemingly not knowing it's still an option.

Since the relaunch, players have been begging Player First Games for a more reliable way of earning and sending Toast in-game, and that monkey's paw wish has just curled. Earlier this week, , which works out to around two cents per piece of Toast.

As you can probably imagine, charging players for what's supposed to be a good-natured show of sportsmanship hasn't exactly gone down well with the MultiVersus community. Over on the game's subreddit, , who shared a picture of the Toast bundle and called it an "absolute joke".

To m💃ake matters worse, Toast used to be purchasable using Gold in the original Open Beta version of MultiVersus.

That post is currently one of the most up-voted on the MultiVersus subreddit, with tons of comments from players calling it a "nickel an💮d dime" situation and saying that the wish for more Toasts has been granted in the worst possible way. The , with almost everyone be🐷ing baffled by the decision.

The only good to come from the situation is that some players are now requesting that Player First Games introduces an option that lets players trade in their unwanted currencies for Toast, which seems like a much more preferable situation than what we've got currently.
