He has a very coherent moveset, filled with moves that work well together. Once you familiarize yourself with this Looney Tune, you may just witness his gameplan as it reveals itself to you before your eyes. Or, you know, you can just read this guide, and we will tell you what is up.

Ability Overview

MultiVersus-Bugs-Bunny-Bugs-Bunny-Edge-Gaurding-With-A-Mallet-1

Bugs Bunny is a mage. And that is a class archetype that this projectile-heavy character fits. However, he also has a potent drop-kick, and an excellent bat swing that hꦗits above him. So, when he wants to, he is more than capable of mixing it up and going in on his opponents. It is also noteworthy that Bugs has a number of moves that will ringout his opponent, and he can take them out on any side.

This guide is being written post-patch, so Bugs isn't the god of rockets that he once was, and he has been adjusted in a number of ways to make him less of monster, but he is still an excellent character who will rack up KOs.

Description

Whack-y, Ain't It?

Attack

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Neutral Attack

Chargeable

This is a move with decent knockback, but stubby range. You can score kills with it, but you will primarily be using this attack to smack safes at your opponents.

Why I Oughta!

Forward + Attack

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Forward Attack

Armor Breaking

Bugs Bunny is a versatile character with a whole host of excellent moves: this is not one of them. Of all the combo attacks in the game, Bugs' is definitely the worst. The range is absolutely miserable.

As much as this move may suck, and it does, you are still going to want to use it on occasion as it is Bugs' lone armor-breaking move. So if Superman is charging up one of his slow-ass armored moves, bꦡust this out.

It is worth noting that if you are looking to land combos, then this move does become considerably more useful. This attack does lead into his Rabbit Kick, which can lead into his Look Out Below mallet atta🦹ck, which will combo back into Why I Oughta all over again.

Rabbit Kick

Up + Attack

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Up Attack

Chargeable

Like his Why I Oughta attack, this is another not-great move. It may be one of the worst up-attacks in the game. It just has miserable range for its speed.

If you want an attack that hits over your head you are FAR better off just doing a short hop and instantly using the aerial equivalent: Swing Batta Batta. That move is better in every conceivable way.

Once you start to master Bugs, you may begin learning more combos. That is when you will start to use this move. Outside of being utilized in certain combos, though, it is pretty weak.

Pie Barrage

Down + Attack

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Down Attack

Projectile, Healing, Slow Debuff

Pie Barrage is Bugs Bunny's primary projectile. Pressing this button once will equip the pie, pressing it again will throw the pie. The pie itself will pass through your partner, healing them in the process, and slow your enemies if it hits them.

When🌠 you have a down moment, it is worth tossing a pie.

A Safe Investment

Special

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Neutral Special

Projectile

A Safe Investment is a great move to throw out. It is pretty quick, so you can get it down in a jiffy, it will provide you with some level of protection, as no one wants a safe dropping on their head, and it is an excellent projectile once you give it a good whack with your mallet.

Ain't I A Charmer?

Forward + Special

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Forward Special

Enrage, Charm Debuff

This move sees Bugs Bunny blow a kiss. If the kiss lands on an ally, they will become enraged, if it lands on an enemy, it will charm them (freezing them in place).

Unfortunately, this low is a combination of extremely slow and has a pitiable range. This means that it is very risky to tr𒈔y against enemies.

However, if your ally holds up for a second here and there, you can absolutely empower them with a kiss. So, its usefulness is going to depend on your partner's knowledge of how this move works.

Special Delive-Rocket

Up + Special

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Up Special

Projectile

This move sends a rocket straight up into the sky. If it hits an opponent who is in midair, it will often kill.

This move is quite good, but using it means that you won't have access to your Rocket Rider ability, which is (generally) better.

You are only going to want to use Special Delive-Rocket when you are recovering back to the platform, or when you are certain yo✤u can land it for a kill.

When your rocket is on cooldown, this move turns into Bugs' helicopter ear move, which is pretty good for recovery as well.

Bunny Burrow

Down + Special

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Down Special

This attack has Bugs burrow into the ground. While you are in the ground you can control where you go (you are invincible while underground). Once you pop up out of the ground, wherever you emerge will now have a hole present. Pressing down on either hole will warp you to the other.

Once it is down, your partner can use your burrow as well.

When you pop up out of the hole you will hit any opponent standing above you. This makes it a pretty neat little sneak attack.

If you use this move while on your rocket, when you pop up you will immediately change the trajectory of the rocket, sending it upward. This is a little gimmicky, but it can be pretty great for catching opponents trying to jumཧp over it.

Aerial Attacks

Additional Properties

Description

Helicopter Punch

Attack

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Aerial Neutral Attack

This attack has Bugs spin in the air. It isn't bad for air-to-air encounters, but its range isn't incredible.

Flying Rabbit's Foot

Forward + Attack

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Aerial Forward Attack

Chargeable

Bugs' Flying Rabbit's Foot is INCREDIBLE. It has very respectable range, you can charge it, it has a ton of knockback, and the hitbox is amazing.

This will be one of𒆙 your mai🌊n ways to take enemies out.

Swing Batta Batta!

Up + Attack

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Aerial Up Attack

As terrible as the Rabbit Kick is (outside of combos), Bugs' Swing Batta Batta is an equal amount excellent. This move is WAY too fast for how far above Bugs' head it hits. It is an excellent attack and will be another s🌜ource of kills for Bugs.

When people are edge-guarding Bugs, you can use this move to bat them away if you are clutching the edge of the arena.

Look Out Below!

Down + Attack

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Aerial Down Attack

If you have the pie equipped, you can toss it at opponents in the air by using this move. Otherwise, you will use your mallet for a decent spike attack. If you land the spike, you can go directly into his Swing Batta Batta attack.

Safe Painter

Special

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Aerial Neutral Special

Similar to the grounded version, you drop a s🐼afe on your enemies. It is a great little move to drop on a crowd.

Rocket Rider

Forward + Special

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Aerial Forward Special

Projectile

The Rocket Rider is probably the move you associate with Bugs most in this game. There is a reason for this. It hits hard, it controls space brilliantly, and its cooldown isn't even that long.

Use this move whenever you can. It gives you SO MUCH control of the ground, as your opponents will need to jump it. And what does Bugs have? An excellent attack for batting people out of the air. This is a huge part of Bugs' game.

The Rocket Rider is also an excellent way to recover when you hav💦e been knocked off the stage.

Special Delive-Rocket

Up + Special

MultiVersus-Bugs-Bunny-Aerial-Up-Special-1

This is the same attack as the grounded version, just in th👍e air♔.

Bun On The Run

Down + Special

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Aerial Down Special

This is the same attack as the grounded version, just ⛦in the air.

Battle Strategy

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Bugs Bunny's Safe Lands On Superman

Before we get into the nitty-gritty of Bugs Bunny, let's quickly tally his most potent attacks. His Flying Rabbit's Foot is an extraordinarily good approach option from the air and will ringout opponents. Bugs' Swing Batta Batta is a fantastic aerial attack for hitting opponents above him and will lead to ringouts at the top of the screen. Finally, his best projectiles are his Safes and his Rockets. The rocket is more potent and easier to get out,༒ but once his safe is airborne it will control just as much space and is anoth😼er excellent tool for controlling the arena.

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Bugs Bunny Killing Morty With A Bat

So, what does this tell us? Well, that Bugs has a number of dangerous projectiles that will fill large swathes of the stage, and that he is very capable of knocking his opponents off the screen when he is below them. This right here is an excellent starting point for understanding Bugs. One of his most potent strategies is to send a giant projectile your way, wait for you to hop over it, and then bat you out of the sky.

A smart Bugs will also set up his Bunny Burrow early, as it makes for a quick way for him to get some distance and restart his projectile game once enemies start to crowd him. And op🍌ponents will have to be smart about approaching Bugs, as if you are a hair too late, you may end up catching his🌜 mallet when he is hitting the safe, or bumping into his rocket.

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Bugs Bunny Drop Kicking A Whole Team

However, it isn't all keep away with Bugs, his Lucky Rabbit's Foot is an amazing drop-kick attack that has a fantastic hitbox. This is a good move to throw out when you see an opponent who is committed to an attack, or when you are trying to take care of a wounded enemy. It is also Bugs' best edge guarding move. If they were weak enough to get knocked off the platform, then they likely won't survive eating the fully charged drop kick. Keep in mind that this move hits close to the ground as well. So, despite it being an aerial attack, it is great for fighting grounded opponents.

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Two Supermen Hit By A Rocket

So, in summary, you are going to use projectile attacks to cause havoc on the screen, you are going to bat opponents out of the air with the Swing Batta Batta attack when they are above you, you will escape pressuring enemies with your Bunny Burrow, and you will pursue enemies with your Lucky Rabbit's Foot. Throw out a pie every once in a while to heal your partner and slow your enemies, and maybe give an opponent a kiss if you are feeling extra bold. Follow this basic strategy and you will be playing a pretty clean Bugs Bunny

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Bugs Bunny Whacking Superman While He Tries To Edge Guard

A quick note on recovery... Bugs Bunny has excellent recovery options: his Rocket Rider will get him right back to the platform for free, and even if he is out of rockets, he will be able to use his helicopter ears to get back without much issue. If you are clinging to a ledge, and your opponents are trying to spike you, use your Swing Batta Batta attack to whack them from below.

Team Play Strategy

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Bugs Bunny Sneak Attacking LeBron

Bugs has a few moves that benefit the team greatly. For starters, his Bunny Burrow can be used by his partner, which gives them a nice escape option. He can also heal them (for a small amount) with his pie throw. Then there is the kiss...

If your partner knows how the kiss works, they can hold up for a second and receive one to become enraged (which will allow them to apply stacks of weakness to an enemy). However, you are g✨oing to need to be on the same page for this to work. This makes it a pretty good tool when playing with friends, but close to useless whe❀n playing with randos.

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Bugs Bunny Throwing A Pie

Beyond that, your partner will benefit greatly from the chaos Bugs' projectiles cause. Especially a character like Harley or Superman, who have excellent kill options in the air. Bugs forces his opponents to take to the sky frequently. If your partner performs well in the air, then they will be a great fit for a Bugs team.

Bugs Bunny's Signature Perk Overview

MultiVersus, Bugs Bunny, Signature Perks

Comin' Through Doc and Lingering Love are both great perks. However, you are going to have to decide what you want... Do you want to make Bugs' Bunny Burrow—a move you will probably use frequently—even more potent? Or would you like to greatly improve the usability of his Ain't I A Charmer kiss attack? Both are valid options.

Comin' Through Doc will make it so that leaving the Burrow will create a shockwave, this is great and makes that move even more potent. Lingering Love makes it so that the heart will stay out, becoming a floating projectile, which will cause your enemy to be stunned when they collide with it. Now the stun will be shorter, but it is still a nice thing to have and will help to control that space. We tend to go with the Comin' Through Doc signature perk, but we think you would be better off trying both out. They're both great!
