There's always more than meets the eye. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mortal Kombat 1 was announced a while ago, but we just got a trailer with gameplay, story bits, Ed Boon himself sharing some thoughts about the game, and people playing 𒊎it on Summer Game Fest. And that gives us glimpses of what to𝓡 expect from our next bloody tournament.
From big information being used to market the game to small details that come here and there, there's quite a lot to talk about the new reality we're about to embark on. Thus, let us begin.
8 ꧒ Main Roster And Kameo Fighters ꦐ
This is being promoted a lot, but it's good to have it cleared out regardless. Mortal Kombat will offer two separate character rosters. The main roster consists of who you'll play during the match, while the Kameo fighter you choose is a character you can occasionally call to help you out. For example, you can play as Scorpion and call Kano to do his cannonball attack during the fight. You'll use the R1/RB button to do these moves, and the move will change depending on what direction you're pointing at.
Some characters, such as Sub-Zero, will be in both rosters, but there's a good chance these rosters will have exclusive characters. However, as we don't have either of the rosters fully available, we can only speculate who will be on each of them. Also, you can use Kameo fighters to do the Fatality instead of your main character, and these Fatalities — along with the whole Kameo fighters aesthetic — are based on their original appearances and moves.
7 🌟 3D Era Repr🍎esentation
Boon is surely spoiling us during his interviews. Since we mentioned the game's two sets of rosters, we also know that this game will feature 3D-era representation. That means we will have more obscure characters showing up during this game.
With that said, we don't know how that will work. Does that mean characters such as Ashrah could be in the story as part of the main roster, or will these characters be thrown into the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Kameo fighters category? Only time will tell.
6 ♛ Story Retold
Another big part of the promotional material is that this is a reboot — well, sort of. Technically, this is a continuation of MK11, where 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Liu Kang, now a God, is recreating the erased universe. However, he's literally the only one who remembers what was, while everything else is new.
So, even though many familiar faces are returning, don't expect them to behave the same way. Boon already teased that Scorpion and Sub-Zero are brothers, and though it's hard to say if he meant blood-related or more of a clan thing, that's already a new take on both of them.
5 👍 Hidden Loading 🃏
Do you remember the beautiful conversations the characters have before the fights? That's a trend NetherRealm studios started with MK, and they even do the same with the Injustice games too. They're back, but they're doing a neat trick.
Instead of happening in a cutscene before the fight, the characters talk to one another during the character selection screen after they are both confirmed. That way, the game disguises the short loading taking place as, by the time they're done talking, the game is ready to go. These conversations also give us plot information, which leads to some extra details we found out.
4 Sub-Zero's Identity
We have multiple people who use the mantle of Sub-Zero. The original is Bi-Han, who's not the nicest person out there, and after his death, the mantle was taken by his younger brother, Kuai Liang. And then Bi-Han proceeds to turn into Noob Saibot, but that's a different conversation.
However, thanks to the aforementioned conversations that take place before the fights, Liu Kang addresses Sub-Zero as Bi-Han, confirming that we're back to the original. Does that mean a betrayal is coming? And what about Kuai Liang? This version of Scorpion and Sub-Zero are brothers, making Kuai Liang and Hanzo related as well. It'll be interesting to see these new dynamics happen.
3 💜 Countess Jade
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Jade is also mentioned in these pre-fight conversations, where Liu Kang tells Kitana she'll be important to her. That much is not surprising, as Kitana and Jade were always close, but Jade is addressed as Countess Jade, which is curious.
However, that only implies she's in the game. She could be in the main roster, a Kameo fighter, or just a non-playable character. Let's be optimistic and hope for both rosters, though.
2 Mi🌊leena, Heir To The Throne 🐎
One last interesting bit of lore from the pre-fight conversations is Kitana's devotion to Mileena. Whether Mileena is Queen or the heir — for reasons we'll get to next — is a mystery. In fact, we don't even know if she rules Edenia, Outworld, or both. But, for whatever reason, the throne is either hers or will be instead of Kitana.
However, Mileena's transformation will affect the outcome of her being a future Queen and her relationship with Kitana - that's what the conversations imply, at least. It'll be fun to see how that will play out.
1 🌌 Sindel Appears
Did you spot her? We won't judge you if you didn't. In one of the trailers, we have a quick look at a map that seems to be Edenia, though this is not confirmed. Still, good evidence for this being Edenia is that you can quickly glimpse a throne that is not empty.
There you can see Sindel. She's in a similar situation to Jade, though; she could be on either roster, both of them, or neither. Only time will tell. That also begs the question about Mileena's situation; she may be Sindel's heir instead of Kitana, and we're yet to see why and how this will play out.
