The fanmade total conversion mod 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fallout: London has been 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:delayed indefinitely after Bethesda announced that a next-gen patch for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fallout 4 — the game Fallout: London is made from — will launch on April 25th, two days after London's planned release. In an , the mod's project leader, Dean "Prilladog" Carter, announced that Bethesda's updates would break the ambitious mod if Team FOLON stuck to the original date. So FOLON is indefinitely delaying the release as it awaits Bethesda's fixes and works to ensure the mod plays nice with the base game.
It's a little disappointing that Fallout: London won't get to coast on the success of the Fallout TV series in the same way it would have with the original date. That date also coincided with the day players exited the Vault in the game, so it throws off the synchronicity a bit. But I'm willing to wait.
I Just Can't Fall In Love With Fallout
That may be because I'm not the biggest Fallout fan. The only game in the series that I've finished is Fallout 4. I preferred 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fallout 3, but got distracted before I hit credits. I've similarly started 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fallout: New Vegas multiple times but always fallen off — the desert opening just doesn't hook me for whatever reason. I also tried the original game, but dropped it. I played a bit of 76, too, but, again, I dropped it. This series just doesn't usually stick with me.
Which is odd because, by all accounts, I should love it. I'm a big fan of Western RPGs, and Obsidian's entry is often held up as a pinnacle of choice-driven design. I love 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Outer Worlds, which is essentially Fallout: New Vegas in space, but have never made it far in the original. For that reason, I've never been all that stoked for a new game in the series. The apocalypse just isn't a setting I enjoy that much. Give me a dystopian society like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Cyberpunk 2077's Night City and I'll have a great time. Give me a desert wasteland, and my eyes start to glaze over.
Across The Irradiated Pond
But Fallout: London, for whatever reason, is really exciting to me. I suspect the big difference is that, as an American, Fallout isn't typically fulfilling any fantasies. By the nature of its conceit, it tends to offer uglier versions of the country I already live in. This is part of the reason I haven't been that excited to check out the Amazon Prime series, even though I've heard good things. It just isn't a milieu that I want to spend much time in.
But I've never been to London, or anywhere in England at all, and I'm always stoked to visit the city in a game. Exploring the city was one of the more interesting aspects of Watch Dogs Legion, a game I was otherwise underwhelmed by. The brief gameplay at the end of FOLON's delay announcement makes the setting look plenty Fallout-y, but with a really distinct twist.
Neil Newbon, who voiced Astarion in Baldur's Gate 3 to TGA-winning success, . Another reason to be excited.
Maybe more important than the change in setting, though, is the idea that a big, new game in the series is being developed by someone other than Bethesda. It's an unofficial, non-canonical entry, sure. But, as I've established, I don't care about Fallout canon to begin with. I've tried to love Bethesda games over and over and have never had much luck. I thought 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Starfield might be a game changer given how much I love spacefaring sci-fi, but I fell off after a few hours. Maybe Team FOLON's take on the world will be just different enough for Fallout to finally make like a Geiger counter and click.

We Need Smaller Fallout Games, And W༺e Need Them Soon
Fallout is getting a w♏ave of new fans, but Fallout 5 is too far away.
