Like other life-sim games, Moonstone Island offers the chance for you to romance characters in the game and form a deeper bond with them. You have eleven possible romance options among the game's diverse cast of characters, each with their own personality, routine, likes, and dislikes.

If you want to romance someone, you'll have to put the work in bonding with them via talking with them, gifting them items, and going on dates with them. We'll show you just how to woo the character of choice in this guide, as well as what items each character enjoys receiving and how to obtain the Moonstone Bracelet to make it all official.

How To Increase Your Relationship With A Character

Of the 11 characters in Moonstone Island, all 11 of them are romanceable.

You can increase your relationship with any character, including those you can romance, by interacting with them, gifting them items, or going on dates with them.

Each in-game day you have the opportunity to interact with a character three times using the Chat, Joke, or Flirt dialogue options. The Fast Talker skill increases the chance by one per day.

You have a percentage chance to succeed at any of the three, with Chat starting at 70 percent, Joke at 50 percent, and Flirt at ten percent, but these can be further increased by leveling up skills in the Social category. Having a higher relationship with a character also increases your chance to succeed at an action.

Performing any one of these actions will boost the character's relationship but if one of the actions fails, you'll be deducted several points.

You can see the skill chart at any time by using a Magic Mirror, which is crafted at a Moonstone Enchanter.

Gifting items is available once an in-game week and each character has several things they like or love, often relating to their profession. You can increase it to two gifts a week by getting the Generous skill.

Giving a character an item they dislike, such as gifting Cleo a Flax Flower, will result in a relationship point deduction.

How To Go On A Date With A Character

At any time, you have the option to go on a date with a character. This is done by talking with them and selecting the Ask On A Date option, and you can have one date a week per character.

You'll have the option to take a character to several locations including the Beach, Tavern, Hot Spring, and the Villager's House if you've reached a higher enough relationship and each one has its own percentage chance of succeeding.

Failing at asking them on a date will result in a small drop in relationship, usually six points, and you won't be able to ask them on another date until the next day. If you miss a date, you'll also get the same point penalty, and be unable to ask them again on that day.

All dates will occur at 20:00 in the evening, and you are also able to choose a day for the date, either one or two days after you ask.

During the date, you'll talk with your chosen character, getting to know them a little more, and have the option to answer a question from them. Answering the question correctly will result in a large boost in relationship points, usually between 60 and 99 points. Answering incorrectly will deduct a large amount of relationship points.

Dates will cause the current night to end, and you'll wake up in your home the next morning, so make sure you've finished everything you want to do early on a date day.

How To Officially Date A Character

Entering into an official relationship with a character means gifting them a Moonstone Bracelet.

The Moonstone Bracelet's recipe is unlocked via the last slot in the right-most path in the Social tab, More Than A Crush. Once unlocked, it can be crafted at a Moonstone Enchanter, and requires one Iron Ingot and three Moonstones to craft.

Gift the Moonstone Bracelet to a villager of your choice, and you'll then be in a relationship with them, and unlock the ability to go on a date with a villager to their home.
