168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Monster Train stands out from the deckbuilder roguelite crowd for a variety of reasons. While the subgenre is loaded with Slay the Spire-like games, Monster Train 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:keeps itself fresh by reinventing the core gameplay. The game mixes strategy, tower defense, and ꦉdeckbuilding elements together to create a fresh experience. Perhaps its greatest strength is in the variety created by its unique cast of𓃲 Champions.

The Champions serve as the core of the gameplay experience, and the center of most deck compositions. They fulfill many different roles, from high DPS to solid frontline defense, and that variety helps keep runs from feeling repetitive. It's certainly possible to get 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:successful runs in at the highest Cove🤡nants with every single Champion. However, not every Champion is created equally, and there's a great difference between a reliable card and one that gets dragged across the finish line. As a note, this does not include the DLC Champions, as the focus is more on the base experience.

10 Shardtail🐻 Queen

Monster Train Shardtail Queen Card List

The Shardtail Queen is the Exiled Champion for the Hellhorned Clan. As opposed to her princely counterpart, the Queen's playstyles revolve around commanding a larger army of units. Her default cards include free Imps, and one of her upgrades gives her access to even more Imps. The Imps are funny units, and some compositions can make them work, but are wildly unreliable and weigh the Queen down.

The Queen on her own doesn't inspire much confidence either. Her stats are low for both frontlining and dealing high damage, which leaves her as a supportive Champion. Her Rally build is the most straightforward, but it's a challenge to give her a frontline while continuing to summon Imps. Imperialist is pretty much useless. Imp Parade, when fully upgraded, is somewhat decent, but Imps just don't cut it. The Queen is a weak Champion across the board.

9 Solgard t💦he Martyr

Monster Train Solgard the Martyr Card List

Solgard the Martyr, the Exiled Champion for the Stygian Clan, is rather challenging to make work. It's even more reliant on casting spells than its fellow Stygian, with its gameplay revolving around Incant and its passive shards. At the very least, the three different upgrade paths for Solgard require unique strategies to execute. However, it requires a lot of foresight and a lot of luck.

Di𒀰rechannel scales in a straightforward manner and works well in Incant compositions. Coldchannel is incredibly fragile in the early stages, where the game is at ꦆits most volatile, making that build challenging to execute. Titanchannel has the opposite problem and requires a very strict build to execute properly. Solgard is not flexible but can be incredibly powerful if all the stars align.

8 Hornbreake꧙r Prince

Monster Train Hornbreaker Prince Card List

The starting Champion that all players will get to use, Hornbreaker Prince is wildly simple. It's a unit that just whacks opponents over the head and gets stronger by doing so. The three different upgrade paths are all fairly flexible, and the Prince can function regardless of draft. However, it has the opposite problem of Solgard in that this flexibility makes it feel underwhelming.

The Prince is certainly capable of being both a frontline and backline unit. It's even recommended to mix its different upgrade paths to help cover its weaknesses. However, in most cases, its stats are just underwhelming. Brawler doesn't have enough innate damage, Reaper gets shredded without proper support, and Wrathful needs to scale to become useful. There are better units in the Hellhorned set to fulfill any purpose the Prince would have on its own.

7 ꦓ Primordium 💧

Monster Train Primordium Card List

The Umbra Clan of units is a fascinating class, and one of the most fun to use in the game. All of their builds require proper planning and strategy, but it is rewarding to watch the fully operational Umbra unit tear a boss apart. Primordium serves as a fully supportive Champion, literally feeding its fellow units to give 💯them success.

Primordium is another challenging Champion to use, but it's reliable. Superfood is a fantastic upgrade path, allowing it to support an aggressive frontliner. Stalwart Snack has its uses and is great for decks that contain a lot of stat buffs. Aggressive Edible is the least useful, as its early game weakness makes it volatile enough that getting past Daedelus or Talon is rough. After a few runs, success with this Champion is guaranteed.

6 The S♋entient

Monster Train The Sentient Card List

The Sentient is one of the few Champions that is completely inflexible; she is always a tank. Her three upgrade paths determine the type of tank The Sentient will be, but she will always be a tank. This is great because it's easy to figure out what other units should be drafted to accompany The Sentient. However, it's also limiting in that the other fantastic frontline units in the Awoken clan will be ignored.

Each of The Sentient's upgrades is rock solid. Explosive is great for denting the opposing frontline to get cleaned up by higher floors. Cultivating is great for decks that require heavy card draw, and it allows for some scaling power on backline units. Bristling is great for clearing the opposing backline, taking out the enemies that deal the most damage. The Sentient will always have a place, and that makes her fun and easy to use.

5 🐓 🦂 Little Fade

Monster Train Little Fade Card List

Little Fade, the Exiled Champion for the Melting Rem🎃nant, has one completely useless upgrade path along with two incredible ones.𒀰 The Melting Remnant is a challenging clan to use in general, and the Little Fade is certainly no exception. However, the power of her two viable upgrade paths makes her a real monster on the train.

Fire Light is the relatively useless upgrade, making her a lackluster supportive Champion when there are much better options. Little Icarus and Eternal Flame, on the other hand, both make Little Fade into a killing machine. Little Icarus requires a lot of planning to make sure the Fade secures every single kill, as she'll scale throughout the rest of the run. Eternal Flame is great for scaling damage in individual encounters but requires proper support to excel. She's challenging to make work but can wipe out bosses with ease if supported.

4 Tethys Titansbane 𓄧

Monster Train Tethys Titansbane Card List

Tethys Titansbane is the default Champion for the Stygian clan and isn't as reliant on casting spells as its Exiled counterpart. Instead, Tethys has access to other build options and styles and innately has one of the best passives for a backline unit in Sweep. She's rather weak, but her passives give her power.

Tethys's builds all function in different ways. Handheld Totem gives her Sweep, which is fantastic for clearing out backline units. Spell Weakness isn't amazing, but it's passable. Conduit is fantastic for Incant decks and utilizing the wickedly powerful spells in the Stygian deck. Chillwind is great for Frostbite decks, with Frostbite being a lethal status ailment. Tethys is not the best, but she's flexible and reliable.

3 Re꧂ct♌or Flicker

Monster Train Rector Flicker Card List

Rector Flicker, the main Champion for the Melting Remnant, has three incredibly powerful upgrade paths. They all require specific tuning and decks built around them, but the results are fantastiꦇc. Rector is also much more self-sufficient than other Champions, only really needing his own cards to succeed, which is an added bonus.

Burn Bright is fantastic during all stages of the run. You'll need to support him properly, but with high base damage and HP, he's capable of wiping out every boss with ease. Accumulator gives him a scaling option, although floor expansion will be necessary. Dark Calling is more supportive and works well in conjunction with other units that have the Harvest passive. He can even stack both Accumulator and Dark Calling, making him a serious menace during any encounter.

2 ✃ Wylden⛦tren

Monster Train Wyldentren Card List

This is likely a personal preference, but Wyldentren is one of the most effective Champions in Monster Train. They're a straightforward Champion, capable of being in the frontline and the backline. However, unlike the similarly built Hornbreaker Prince, Wyldentren gets strong passive abilities and has high base stats to help him succeed.

Wyldentren is interesting to use due to his innate buffs. He gets access to a reliable Sting build, allowing him to combo with Stygian effortlessly. He also gets access to Sweep and Root, which can help him lock units on a specific floor and keep them from climbing to the Pyre room. Finally, his Predator build is incredible, as he's blessed with Quick and Multistrike innately. He's reliable and easy to use, which is a huge benefit for higher Covenant ranks.

1 Penumbra

Monster Train Penumbra Card List

The best Champion is absolutely down to player preference, but Penumbra is unbelievably strong regardless of that. He requires a lot of extra floor space to succeed but is capable of wiping out entire compositions with ease. The biggest draw is his high base stats that are further enhanced by the Umbra's unique Morsel minions, giving him insane scaling potential.

The different builds for Penumbra all function similarly. Architect is the least useful, being overshadowed by just how overpowered the other two are. Monstrous gives Penumbra innate Trample, which remains absurdly powerful even after nerfs. Glutton turns his scaling up to the max, and proper support gives him stats that are unrivaled. He's a static unit, but winning with Penumbra is so simple that anybody can do it.
