Following the story missions will lead you to encounter each monster in its own good time, but you're welcome and encouraged to complete optional tasks and hunts as they appear on the job board. Keep in mind that the quests you'll be able to undertake are based on your Hunter Rank, including the challenging Sapphire Star's Guidance.
Behind The Sapphire Star's Guidance
Even after completing the main story, you'll still be able to undertake a variety of optional quests that range from very easy to extremely difficult. One quest known as the Sapphire Star's Guidance is an endgame task that will only become available to you once you've reached a Hunter Rank of 100.
In order to increase your rank, you'll need to complete a specific number of story quests known as Assignments. Once you've done so, you'll be able to undertake the Sapphire Star's Guidance which is considered the final hunter's test.
Guide To The Sapphire Star's Guidance
What makes this quest particularly difficult is that it asks you to hunt down three 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Elder Dragons at once, specifically a Kushala Daora, a Teostra, and a Nergigante. To make matters worse, each of them will be Tempered which means that they'll have increased health and attack damage. The setting for this quest is the Elder's Recess, and you'll have the standard time limit of 50 minutes to complete it with only three Faints allowed.
This quest asks that you slay these monsters. Capturing them will not fulfill your objec🦩tives.
The Elder Dragons don't all spawn at once with the Kushala Daora appearing first, followed by the Teostra, and finally the Nergigante. Whether you're by yourself or with other hunters, you'd best be prepared for a long and difficult ordeal.
How To Beat The Kushala Daora
To go after this silvery beast first, choose the Campsite in Sector 1 to give it time to spawn in Sector 4. Make your way over to its location and observe it carefully. Unlike other Elder Dragons, the Kushala Daora starts off being non-hostile, and you'll be able to get very close to it. Take this opportunity to set up any bombs around its nest to be used during the fight.
It has no elemental attacks but is most vulnerable to the Thunder and Dragon elements, but is weaker to the former so bring a Thunder-based weapon if you want to play optimally. In battle, be wary of the tornadoes it can summon around the field. They won't harm you, but they'll knock you around leaving you vulnerable. When it summons a tornado around itself, it becomes impervious to attacks so use this opportunity to regroup.
Remember, you can always change we🥂apo🦄ns at a camp if you want to take advantage of different elemental weaknesses within the same quest.
The Kushala Daora is vulnerable to Flash Pods so bring as many as possible. To make the most of their effects, launch them at the monster just after it takes off from the ground. This will knock it down leaving it vulnerable to multiple attacks. Focus strikes on the head, forelegs, and tail since these are its weakest body parts and can be broken quite quickly. Keep in mind that since the Kushala Daora is Tempered, it will become immune to Flash Pods after four flashes so take advantage of each knockdown to the fullꦰest.
How To Beat The Teostra
After taking down the Kushala Daora, make your way quickly to Sector 12, where Teostra will spawn. This will be a volcanic area so make sure you stock up on cooling items to help deal with the heat. Since this dragon is fire-based, having equipment that has Heat Guard will be very helpful in reducing the effectiveness of its attacks. However, be warned that it can also inflict Fireblight so take plenty of curative items to combat that.
Many of Teostra's attacks use fire in order to protect it and make the arena more dangerous. One of its signature moves involves covering its body in a fire which makes approaching it very dangerous. It also has a tendency to leave fire puddles around the arena which will quickly drain your health if you wander into them. Its most dangerous move happens when it covers its body in fire after it takes flight. This indicates that it's about to use Supernova, a huge explosion tꦫhat covers a wide area so be pre🐎pared to run.
When fighting this dragon, you should focus on its head, wings, and tail which you can sever using concentrated strikes. While fighting, be wary of the black scales it scatters as they will explode after a certain amount of time. The Teostra is surprisingly fast so try to stick close to its abdomen to reduce its attack options. Like other flying dragons, use Flash Pods to🌌 knock it to the ground wꦬhen it tries taking off.
How To Beat The Nergigante
Of the three Elder Dragons you'll face in this quest, the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Nergigante is eaܫsily the most aggressive. Take time to prep at a Campsite and then make your way to Sector 14 to find this beast. It has no elemental attacks or status ailments that it can inflict on you but can hit you with a variety of devastating physical attacks very fast and from different ranges.
This dragon's defining characteristic are the spikes growing all over its body. They act as an armor and start off quite weak, so you can break them off with attacks. However, once broken, they'll grow back stronger and be able to deflect attacks. They also can enhance how much damage its attacks do such as charging at you headfirst or slamming down its leg to shoot out spikes. After it has grown spikes on its different body parts, it will perform its signature Dive Bomb attack by flying up and diving towards you. You'll need to sprint and dive to have any hope of avoiding it, but note that this attack will destroy the Nergigante's spikes. This means that this is the perfect time to go on the offensive and play a little more aggressivelyꦇ.
In order to take down Nergigante, target every part of its body that has the weaker spikes. Helpfully, these spikes are yellow to indicate a weak point that you can exploit. In terms of breaking, it's a very good idea to aim for the Nergigante's horns and sever its tail to reduce its attack power. Like the other Elder Dragons, it's also a good idea to take advantage of its vulnerability to Flash Pods while flying to knock it down. You can also use the Dragon Pods it drops during the fight to try and stagger it or disrupt attacks. It's weakest to Thunder so make sure you have a suitab♓le weapon to take advantage of that fact.
