Monster Hunter World: Ho😼w To Defeat Lavasio𒀰th
Here's everything you need to know about tackling Lavisioth in 🎉Monster Hunter World, including battle strategies and which equipm📖ent to use.
One of these monsters is Glavenus, who you can first hunt in the Scorching Blade main quest at MR7. Glavenus is a large monster with a sword-like tail that it can light aflame, swinging it around to burn up its prey. If you want to hunt this monster successfully, you'll need to prepare. Below, we'll take a look at everything you need to know about hunting Glavenus.
Glavenus - Strengths And Weaknesses
- Weak Points - Head, Back
- Resistance Points - Tail
- Elemental/Ailment Weakness - Water, Ice, Dragon
- Elemental/Ailment Resistance - Fire, Thunder
- Best Weapon Damage - Slash, Blunt
Glavenus is completely immune to Fire damage, and takes little damage from the Thunder element. However, it is weak to Water damage, and its Head and Back are both vulnerable to attacks. If you can manage to cut its tail off, you'll also be at a massive advantage for the remainder of the fight, as it primarily uses its tail to attack.
All ailments work equally as well against Glavenus, so you won't necessarily have success with one over another. That said, putting it to sleep or poisoning it can be good strꦅategies to get some extra damage in.
Best Equipment To Use To Fight Glavenus
Glavenus is mainly weak to Water damage, so we definitely recommend bringing a weapon with this element to the fight. The Jyura weapons, ꦚcrafted from Jyuratodus materials, ar♉e a good choice.
While the best weapon is always the one you're the most comfortable with, you may want to try out bringing something fast against Glavenus. Sword and Shield, Longsword, and Bow are all good options that will allow you to stay mobile while avoiding Glavenus's large attacks.
We also recommend using armor with Evade Window. This skill makes it much easier to avoid attacks, allowing you to dodge through Glavenus's tail-swipe attacks without getting hit.
When you do get hit, you'll want to have armor with decent Fire resistance, as this is Glavenus's main element. The Rathalos armor set provides good Fire resistance along with a host of other useful skills like Attack Boost and Weakness Exploit.
The Temporal Mantle is great for avoiding some of Glavenus's more difficult attacks, while the Fireproof Mantle will reduce the damage of Glavenu's Fireblight and Fire-imbued attacks.
Glavenus - Fight Breakdown and Moves
Glavenus is a large monster that uses its massive tail to attack. You can expect large, sweeping attacks combined with heavy slam attacks utilizing its tail. However, Glavenus is pretty slow, giving you ample time to counterattack after avoiding its moves.
Glavenus will frequently attack by thrusting its tail forward, dealing a bit of damage. More often than not, Glavenus will repeat this attack a second time, thrusting its ta🌠il forward again. Watch out f🎶or this combo of attacks.
Glavenus's signature attack is to bite its tail, imbuing it with fire. After doing this, all of Glavenus's tail attacks will deal more damage and inflict Fireblight, dealing damage over time. This transformation will also enable it to use a large spinning attack, where it bites its tail, then, after a moment, swipes its tail twice forward in a large circle, twice, dealing heavy damage.
This attack can be difficult to avoid, even if you know it's coming. We recommend using the Temporal Mantle here to ensure you avoid this attack. You can also avoid it by quickly moving behind the monster and dodging at the right time.
When Glavenus is enraged, its throat will glow red, and all of its attacks will be stronger. Additionally, Glavenus can also shoot fireballs from its mouth, dealing high damage and inflicting the Fireblight ailment.
You can knock Glavenus out of its enraged state by focusing your attacks on its head and throat. If you attack these parts enough to topple it over, it will become un-enraged and its attacks will be weakened for a short period of time.
Once you get into the rhythm of avoiding Glavenus's tail attacks, this fight should become much more manageable. When in doubt, hang back and observe the monster to learn its attack patterns and range. This will help immensely as the f🅷ight progresses.
