Monster Hunter Wilds was originally revealed at the 2023 Game Awards. At the time, it was given a broad 2025 release date, though we now know its speciꦯfic window.
That initial trailer was pretty light on details, though it did give players a look at the world they'll be able to explore when the game launches. It also showcased the player character riding and flying on an animal, which appears to be one of the biggest features in the game.
Dynamic weather was also showcased in the initial reveal, and it was later highlighted in Thursday's trailer. Additionally, more footage was shown of the player characer riding a mount while combatting a monster.
Wilds will be the first true mainline entry in Capcom's long-running series since 2018's Monster Hunter World. Since then, there has been a slew of spinoffs and smaller titles, but Wilds represents the first dedicated entry in years. Monster Hunter World did receive multiple expansions in the time since, including Iceborne, though fans will be plenty excited to have a brand-new adventure to run through.
