In fact, the toymaker has revealed Dia De Muertos collections for both Barbie and Monster High to celebrate this year's Day of the Dead, and the special edition Skelita Calaveras Monster High Fashion Doll is available to buy right now.
The Skelita Calaveras doll is wearing a purple and black dress adorned with colorful Dia De ꦍMuertos skulls and other symbols. Also wearing the appropriate makeup and headdress to match, the new doll added to the Monster High collection is a skeleton. Certainly not the first Monster High doll to be made of bones, but definitely the m🧸ost fitting character trait so that the doll is in keeping with the holiday she has been designed to celebrate.

Mattel is going all out for Dia De Muertos this year. Barbie also has a collection to celebrate the holiday which was revealed last week. I don't tend to shout about my favorites in situations like this, but in this instance, while I like the Barbie collection, I'd definitely chalk this up as a win for Monster High fans. Not only via the Skelita 𓃲Calaveras doll above but also the Skulltimate Secrets Neon Frights that are slig✃htly cheaper and were also revealed last month.
Mattel has plans to turn more of its toys into movies after the success of Barbie, and perhaps Monster High will be on its slate alongside projects like Uno and Polly Pocket. Yes, there really is a plan to turn Uno, the card game, into a movie. Monster High already has a place in other forms of media though so might not be near the top of Mattel's list.
