From floating ca🐭stles to training Pokemon, here are the best modpacks you can download for Minecraft.
Nevertheless, there are a few tips and tricks you can use, regardless of server, to improve your Bed🐷 Wars performance. So, without further ado, here are some beginner’s tips for winning your first few games of Bed Wars.
Run To The Generator
The very first thing you should do when you start a game of Bed Wars is run to the generator. This is where yᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚou pick 🌟up your purchasing resources.
The best way to get to the generator quickly, is to walk directly backward i✨nto it, the second you join the map. This way, you minimize the amount of time it takes for you to start earning iron and gold.
On some servers, you can also 'split' the generator between teammates. To do this, have each of your teammates stand at the edges of the generator for a few seconds to increase the amount of resources produced. Then, have one person collect them. You'll get more resources this w𒆙ay.
Divide And Conquer
The most important thing to do when playing a game of Bed Wars, regardless of what server you use, is to divide your in-game tasks among your team members.
If you are playing in a group, the best way to ensure synchronicity and efficiency is to delegate early what tasks belong to which player.
As a general rule of thumb, the best division of tasks for a four-player group is to have one person on bed defense, one person on resource collection duty, and two people 'pushing' the enemy teams (trying to take out their players and beds).
If you find that one person is struggling to cover the bed on time, struggles with PvP, or struggles in any role at all, don't be afraid to try switching up the role assignments. Communication and experimentꦍation are keys to success🐼.
If you only have three players, you can assign one task per player. For two players, you should have one person push enemy beds, while the other collects resources and holds down the fort.
If you're playing solo, you will have to do all of these roles by yourself. In this case, it's best to use a structured 'schedule' for your tasks. Start with covering your bed, then gather resources and buy tools, an♒d finally, take the enemies out.
Cover Your Bed As Soon As Possible
Not all Bed Wars servers will give you more than one type of block to cover your bed with, but as a general standard, they will at least provide you with wool.
As soon as you have the money to do so — typically in the first few minutes of the game — cover your bed with wool at the very least.
If you cover your bed — especially with more than one layer of a block — early on, it will make it more difficult for opposing teams to decide what tools they'll need to break your bed defense. Keep the mystery (and your team) ali🦄ve!
If you are playing solo, don't be afraid to leave your bed covered in wool and push your opponents. Sometimes, you will have the best opportunity to attack another team's bed if you are not spending time defend🉐ing yours. This is why covering your bed with at least wool is so effici🌊ent.
Use The 'Butterfly' Bed Defense
Once you have enough time and resources to spend on your bed defense, the best defense to use is the 'Butterfly' defense.
This only works on servers where you have access to Glass, End Stone, and Wool. Ho꧒wever, you can modify the defense to fit whatever materials your server provides.
In this bed defense, you will cover your bed with three different materials: End Stone, Glass, and Wool.
The first layer of your defense should be to cover the bed with a single-block layer of End Stone — two blocks across the top of the bed, four blocks on either side of the bed, and one block at the front and back of the bed. You will need twelve blocks of End Stone total.
Try crouch-clicking to place the End Stone blocks on the top of the bed🧸 more e♓asily.
After the layer of End Stone, cover your End Stone with almost a full layer of Glass. You will need this to stop your bed from exploding with TNT, which we will explain later. Cover everything but the outer two End Stone blocks of the 'wings'. You will need 14 blocks of Glass.
Finally, cover the whole defense with a layer of Wool. You will need 32 blocks of Wool.
Using a multi-block defense will force your opponents to switch between tools when breaking the defense, and if they aren't quick on the draw, will give you time to slay them while they are changing tools.
Use Glass And Water In Your Defense
In most servers where TNT is usable, Glass will prevent the TNT from exploding. Having even a single layer of glass over your defense will mean that if your opponent drops TNT on the defense, your bed won't blow up, and 🙈you'll have less damage to repair in the long run.
Similarly, covering your defense with Water (by placing a single bucket of water on top of the highest point of your defense) will stop fireballs from destroying your bed defense.
Water also slows opponents down as they try to destroy your bed defense.
Buy Tools Early
As soon as you are able to spare resources, buy tools. The sooner you can get tools, the easier it will be for you to start taking down enemy beds as well as clean up accidenta💛l block placement on your base.
On many servers, tools are permanent once you have purchased them, and on some servers, they are automatically given to you. Regardless, there is usually a way to upgrade your tools as the game progresses.
For a beginner, you just need the base set of tools, but as you get more comfortable with resource management, you can begin to upgrade your tools for quicker power of destruction.
Use Projectiles If You Struggle With PvP
Player-versus-player combat isn't for everyone, and if ⛄you struggle to get a kill with a sword🐎, there are usually other options.
If you're on a server, like Hypixel, that has purchasable projectiles, you should use them. A well-aimed Fireball can make all the difference.
Aim your Fireballs at bridges to knock players down, or at bed defenses your friends are about to reach. You may be able to clear the first layer of blocks around a bed and make the destruction simpler for your al🐎lies.
Similarly, Bows and Knock Back Sticks can also help you corner your enemies into certain spaces. You can even use your bow to farm kills (you may make a few enemies this way, though).
Use TNT To Blow Up Beds
If you find it difficult to infiltrate a base the old-fashioned way, try bridging above the base and dropping TNT on the bed defense. The benefits are two-fold.
By dropping TNT, you do damage to the enemy team, as well as destroy all or part of their bed defense.
To drop the TNT, place it on the side of a block you are standing on while 🅘hoverin🐬g somewhere above the opponent's defense.
Communicate
This is the most important tip of all. On many servers, you will be playing with random teammates. This can be a frustrating and difficult experience, especially if you are not on the same page about what to do or whe🌊re to go.
The best way to alleviate in-game panic is to make sure you communicate clearly with your teammates.
You can use in-game chat or external voice channels to coordinate your game strategy ahead of time, either in the lobby or before entering a match.
Don't be a hero and run off on your own! If you don't let your allies know what you're up to, you risk leaving gaps in your defeꦬnsive or offensive strategy, leaving room for attack.
Buy And Use Traps
Another great way to boost your chances of survival in your early games is to buy traps. Many 𓂃servers will have shop functions that allow you to purchase various upgrades and items for your game.
If you are able to, try to buy traps that protect your base. Sometimes, there are traps that will trigger you if a person has entered a certain radius around your base, alert you if they have turned invisible, or blind them upon entering your base.
Traps protect your base while you are away. This is especially helpful if you are playing solo.
Don't Overdo Your Armor Or Weapons
It can be tempting to spend a boatload of resources on good armor and swords immediately, but this may hinder you in the long run.
While a good set of diamond armor or a diamond sword may sound enticing, it's sometimes not the best choice for your gameplay. Instead, buy a medium-tier armor or sword like iron to get you by as you perfect your bed defense and stockpile resources.
When the time is right, you can buy diamond armor. We don't recommend doing this until you are down to one or two teams left and they are a💎roun𝓰d the same preparedness level as you.
Utilize Hotbar Shortcuts And The Shop
Finally, some servers will have a shop feature that allows you to customize the way resources are stored in your hotbar or the way they appear in the shop menu.
Servers like Hypixel will let you speak to a shopkeeper before t𒊎he match begins. Here, you can select the option to organize your storefront by block.
Organize your shop by putting the earliest necessary items on the far left and the late-game items on the far right. This way, there is a clear linear progression in your shop by both price and necessity, and you will have an easier time purchasing i﷽tems and upgrades.
Some servers will even let you decide what hotbar slots will hold certain item categories. For instance, you can select that slot one should always have your sword while two should always be whatever block ⛄is in your inventory.
Organize your hotbar by combat and defense. We recommend having your sword in slot one, a block like wool in slot two, and your tools and projectiles in the final slots.
