If you've taken up the bounty for Icebeast Chimenzahn in , then you'll have scoured the Everfrost Forest in search for this elusive beast, only to find that it⛦'s being flanked by a diehard Louis supporter who is every bit as i꧅nterested in killing you as the bounty beast itself.

Metaphor: ReFantazio - Nord Mines🅷 Walkthrough
Prepare for a chalꦛlenging hike through Nord Mine in Metaphor: ReFantazio.
Pre-Battle Prep
Bring along a few Amnesty Talismans to remove Icebeast Chimenzahn's high Attack and Defense buff, which it will routinely reacquire via its Breath of Battle skill. Have someone in your party inherit Makarakarn to remove the Icebeast's magic repel buff, too.
Either the protagonist or Eupha (if going by our party setup) should have Medicall or the nearest decent equivalent to provide high party-wide healing.
Other than these tips, you should frankly be fine with what the party naturally brings to the table; Everfrost Forest isn't exactly the longest, most MP-dra♛ining, dungeon in theꩵ game.
Recommended Party Setup
Character |
Archetype |
Formation |
Strategy |
---|---|---|---|
Protagonist |
Soul Hacker* |
Front |
Have a healing spell at the ready if on heal duties. Maintain castings of Adventurer's Curiosity to elevate everyone's critical hit rate. Use the Winning Ho🐲rse synthesis skill against the 🌃soldier; Fire spells like Seeker's Flame are sufficient once the soldier is taken out. Deploy Amnesty Talismans as needed. |
Hulkenberg |
Paladin** |
Front |
The Wanton Destruction synthesis skill with Basilio should be used to further damage the soldier until it's down. Makes a good wielder for Makarakarn to remove the Repel Magic buff. |
Eupha |
Summoner |
Back |
Summon Gargoyle for Fire damage once the soldier is down. Can assist with other synthesis skills as well. Have a healing spell at the ready if on heal duties instead of (o🍬r in conjunction with) the protagonist. Deploy Amnesty Talismans as needed. |
Basilio |
Berserker |
Front |
Assist the protagonist with Winning Horse against the soldier. Use Wild Bore against the Icebeast afterward. Any inherited Fire skills can help for chip damage. |
- The protagonist can just as easily use the Magic Seeker class, if you've not yet unlocked its Elite form, Soul Seeker.
- Similarly, Hulkenberg can settle for Magic Knight if necessary.

Battle Strategy
Our first order of business is to eliminate the soldier. There's very little point in dealing much damage to the Icebeast Chimenzahn beforehand, as the soldier will cure it with the last of its HP if he isn't gotten rid of in time.
While it's quite possible to avoid that scenario by taking him out before he can do so, it's not worth the risk when you will have a harder time damaging the Icebeast before the soldier is gone thanks to the guy's consistent castings of Mage Mirror to grant the creature Repel Magic.
To get rid of that soldier, use Strike-based synthesis skills such as Winning Horse and Wanton Destruction. Have the protagonist use Adventurer's Curiosity to raise everyone's critical hit rate, too.
The soldier should go down soon. Afterward, use Amnesty Talismans to get rid of the maximum Attack and Defense buffs that Icebeast Chimenzahn loves to use with its Breath of Battle skill, and maintain party-wide healing to combat the threat of its multi-target attacks.
You can also use Makarakarn, which we recommended you have someone inherit, to get rid of that pesky Repel Magic buff that the soldier placed🔜 upon Icebeast Chimenzahn.
With Repel Magic dispelled, you'll have an easy time cracking Icebeast Chimenzahn's substantial defenses with your highest-powered available Fire-based attacks. These may include:
- Summon Gargoyle
- Seeker's Flame
- Infernal Vortex
- Flame Vanguard
And, if you're fortunate enough, even better Fire spells. (It will really depend just how far you are into Metaphor when you tak🍨e on this boss; we're rolling on the ass𓄧umption you fight it shortly after unlocking it.)
If you can get critical damage (helped along by Adventurer's Curiosity) after using Charge on Basilio (or another Berserker, we guess) and then fire off Wanton Destruction, yo꧃u're looking at over 3,000 damage in a single hit. At that point, it'𓄧s just a matter of finishing the job.
