Summary

  • While there hasn't been any news of a proper Mega Man video game, fans should know that the composer of Mega Man 3 shared a snippet of a new song online.
  • Harumi Fujita was meeting with creator Akira Kitamura for the first time in decades, and the meeting birthed a track called Sonic Man.
  • While it's unrelated to a new game (or so we think), it's super awesome to see the original composer come out to showcase a new song.

It has been a while since we've had any proper Mega Man news. . And sure, . But as far as actual news, like say a new game, it's sadly been crickets.

While the meeting itself is pretty historic, it's what came from the meeting that is worth checking out. Fujita showcased a snippet of a new song that she created. It comes 34 years after her work on Mega Man 3.

Fujita's Track Is Already Iconic, And It Just Dropped

. Beyond Mega Man 3, Fujita also had a hand with Tomba!, as well as Streets oꦬf Rage, among oth🌳er video games.

The track is called Sonic Man, a riff on Mega Man. Fujita later retweeted the post, confirming her involvement. She added the following t🎐ranslated message as well: "Yes! Sorry, the composer of Rockman has written another Rockman song after 34 years."

As short as the preview is, it's an awesome song. That should be no surprise given that Mega Man 3 is among the best of all the Mega Man games. That said, she is receiving some flak due to an alleged use of AI for the cover for Sonic Man. We are unable to confirm the accusations, though the art is a little bit suspicious.

Either way, it's super awesome to hear her come out of the woodworks for a new song after such a long time away from the franchise. Perhaps if a new Mega Man game were to be announced, Capcom could bring her on to help out.
