Of course, they don't just enthusiastically join your cause and expect nothing in return. You're required to do something to earn the devotion of each merc band. In the case of the Eclipse, they want you to get their leader released from jail. Yet, freeing a Jona Sederis isn't your only option. Here is a full walkthrough of the quest.

Updated April 23, 2023, by Sean Murray: Fighting the Reapers doesn't mean you have to let monsters like Jona Sederis roam free. We've updated this guide with a few formatting tweaks so you can more easily understand your options on this mission.

Talk To Commander Bailey

Once you've acquired the mission from Aria, your first objective is to talk to Commander Bailey. The honorable man is always in his office on the Embassies floor of the Citadel. Entering his room triggers a cutscene where Shepard asks Bailey about setting Jona Sederis free.

The C-Sec commander is completely against letting her go. Yet, he allows you to sanction her release as long as you speak to her first and get an idea of who she is.

Speak With Sederis

Next, you must head to the Presidium Commons, which is also on the Citadel. You're looking for the C-Sec Outpost on the eastern side of the map. Go inside and talk to the Turian who's at the desk. He will set up a vid call betw💎een you ♎and Sederis.

From the short conversation, you can understand why Bailey is not a fan of the Asari, as she shows no remorse for her previous misdeeds. In fact, the Eclipse leader actually promises to cause more chaos when she gets out.

At one point, you have the chance to respond to what she's saying, but your dialogue choice doesn't alter the quest.

Decide What To Do With Sederis

After the unpleasant discussion is over, Bailey appears on the screen and asks what you want to do with Sederis. You can either say, "I'll find another solution" or "It doesn't matter."

Your choice here impacts how the mission ends.

"I'll Find Another Solution" - Convince Sayn To Take Over The Eclipse.

If you decide that you want to keep the dangerous merc locked up, then your only option is to find her second-in-command, Sayn, and convince him to take over. Thankfully, he's on the Citadel in the Docks: Holding Area.

Go to Cargo Hold: A on the west side of the map, and you'll find him sitting down on the edge of one of the cargo containers.

When talking to the Salarian, you get two dialogue options:

"You Don't Need Sederis."

Sederis is forced to rot in jail. You get some Paragon Points for selecting this 🌊one.

"Then You Kill Her."

Sayn kills Sederis after she is released from p🐟rison. You earn a﷽ few Renegade Points for this choice.

Either way, you successfully convince Sayn to become the leader of Eclipse.☂ Then you can return to the elevator to trigger a call and complete the quest.

"It Doesn't Matter" - Grant Sederis's Release.

This route is a lot simpler, as after you allow her to go free, the quest ends immediately. Along with saving some time, you gain more Renegade points for making this choice. Plus, you still gain the Eclipse support.

But you have to live with the knowledge that you've let a bloodthirsty merc roam free.
