With Insomniac's Spider-Man, you're in for a cinematic marvel packed with tons of story, satisfying gameplay, and iconic Spider-Man villains. Some are treated more as side characters, while others are the main attraction who Peter and Miles get to fight. Some of these characters even appear again from the 2018 game. All these villains have something new to offer with how Marvel's Spider-Man 2's story is told.

12 Scorpion

Scorpion returns in the sequel with a less notable role than in the first game. He's the first villain to fall victim to Kraven the Hunter after escaping his prison transport from the Raft. He has a brief interaction with Miles that plays out in a quick-time event battle that ends with Spider-Man being poisoned and hallucinating.

Scorpion is then easily killed by Kraven with his own poison-tipped spear from his suit's tail, which Kraven tore off. His character design hasn't changed much at all, and he still has the fully green metallic Goblin-like suit from the first game. He has a cool moment, however, when he emerges out of the sand to get a sneak attack on Kraven.

11 Tombstone

Tombstone also returns from the original game and is in need of rescue from Kraven's hunters, kidnapped while still in his worker's clothes. Peter and Harry team up to free him from his cell and get him out of an exploding facility during the 'Hunt to Live, Live to Hunt' mission.

In just the short amount of time you get to see and hear from Lonnie Lincoln, you can definitely tell he's more changed than Scorpion, able to find work out of prison and put his biker gang days behind him. He's grateful to Harry and Spider-Man and comes off as more laid-back and friendly than villainous. He may not have the iconic hair like in the comics, but it's a solid look overall.

10 Chameleon

Since Kraven is one of the primary big bads in Spider-Man 2, Sergei Kravinoff's half-brother Dimitri was bound to show up at some point. Dimitri is the Spider-Man villain Chameleon, who can assume any identity with his abilities, and much like in the comics, there's a bitter feud between him and Kraven the Hunter.

He's undoubtedly a tease for future installments, as you don't fight him but have a walk-through of his apartment that triggers a trap meant for his brother. Not dealing with him directly and getting a peak into his lair makes a unique quest. And his character model already being a disguise with the chameleon effect is an outstanding introduction.

9 Wraith

Yuri Watanabe was a police captain in the first game and an ally to Spider-Man. Now, she's more of a foe as she assumes the new role of a deadly vigilante called Wraith. Their run-ins happen during The Flame cult side quests, and things turn unfriendly and cause the two to clash when Wraith's goal is to kill their leader, Cletus Kasady.

Wraith is similar in her personality and motives to the Punisher but with a more dramatic suit than a skull spray-painted on a black shirt. This costume seems a rudimentary form compared to the one Yuri has in the comics. Though still purple, the mask and outfit are reminiscent of Casey Jones from TMNT than a traditional spid🦄er suit with tentacle bandages that grab victims. She also appears to be without her fear abilities.

8 Scream

In a shocking twist, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Venom isn't the only Symbiote Spider-Man will have 🐼to go toe-to-toe with in the game. You have a female symbiote version of♏ Mary Jane Watson named Scream with a spiky red and yellow suit, who Harry creates out of the Symbiote from Venom.

In the comics, Scream is Donna Diego, but her character is reworked for MJ to better fit into the story. The design is very comic accurate, especially her long and thick symbiote hair used as a weapon. The color of the suit also compliments Mary Jane's yellow sweater and red hair. While the fight turns out to be a meaningful moment for her and Peter, her transformation feels as quick and random as She-Venom from the Tom Hardy Venom movie.

7 🍸 Mister Negative

Martin Li, or Mister Negative, is another returning villain in Spider-Man 2. Alongside Scorpion, he's the other Raft prisoner captured by Kraven, forced to fight with Miles Morales as Kraven watches from above the arena like a Roman emperor at the Colosseum.

He's more remorseful this time around and really doesn't want to fight and kill Miles, admitting that he has no choice and that he "won't die as the man that [he] was." From there, he makes quite the turnaround and uses his second chance to help Peter and Miles with the Symbiote.

6 Cletus🍎 Kasady

Not Carnage yet, though the game sure teases it for the next installment, Cletus Kasady makes his debut in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. He's actually introduced as "The Flame," a Charles Manson-like doomsday cult leader who came to steal the red symbiote from an Oscorp truck that would turn him into Carnage.

His maniacal personality is spot-on to the point where he believes being rescued by Spider-Man from Wraith to set his plans into motion is all part of a prophecy. The burns on his body are a detail that may speak to his persona in the game but could also be from the abuse he suffered as a child or alluding to the 'Absolute Carnage' storyline, where a cult worshipping the eldritch God Knull resurrects a badly burned Cletus.

5 Lizard

Dr. Curt Connors may transform into the Spider-Man villain Lizard, but he's no villain in this game. This game delivers one of the most human portrayals of Connors because he's not trying to selfishly turn himself into Lizard, but rather, he's held captive by Kraven against his will and is forced to transform for his sick games.

The backstory for Connors ties in well with the story. He works with Norman to help Harry and is the one to discover the Symbiote from the crashed meteor, losing his arm in the process when it attempts to bond with him. The Lizard design isᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ pretty epic and much be𝓀tter than the live-action Amazing Spider-Man design, looking more like Reptile from Mortal Kombat 1 but even larger and more spiky.

4 Mysterio

Mysterio is a pleasant surprise to see in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and handled quite well. Even though he comes with a boss battle, he's not your main villain boss, and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:nor is he a true villain in the story. You first meet him as Quentin Beck, owner of the Mysterium attraction at the amusement park, a perfect venue to demꦍonstrate his illusions.

You find out that his own team has been exploiting his powers and trying to paint him as a villain, so he's not the deceiving Jake Gyllenhaal Far From Home portrayal you think. His design is comic accurate with green and purple palettes, and the helmet bowl transforming his face into a flaming blue skull like Ghost Rider is a nice touch.

The amusement park setting and Mysterio shrinking Spider-Man inside a snow globe also feel straight out of the 'To Squash A Spider!' storyline.

3 Sandman

Sandman, aka Flint Marko, is the unexpected introductory boss fight in the sequel game. The fight is even more intense and cinematic than the Kingpin one in the first Spider-Man and Rhino in Miles Morales, showcasing the towering size S💖andman can get and all his shapeshifting powers that allow him to make spikes from his arms and cr♋eate minions.

Getting tossed through buildings and working with Miles to take him down and rescue folks while 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:woไrrying about losing your teacher job makes this all the more thrilling. Sandman is the most sympathetic Spider-Man vi👍llain, and they nailed that aspect with his dialog꧑ue. The only critique is not giving his human form of Flint the iconic green striped shirt.
