If the rumors are true, Jane Foster is coming to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Marvel’s Avengers as the first playable character since 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Spider-Man joined the PlayStation roster last November. It’s been a long wait between heroes and it’s probably safe to say that Marvel’s Avengers is never going to find a sustainable audience at this point. And yet, despite all of its many failings, I have to give the game credit for this one. Jane Foster’s arrival will supposedly coincide with Thor: Love and Thunder, AKA the MCU debut of Lady Thor. This is the kind of cross-media synergy that Marvel’s Avengers should have prioritized all along. If it had, maybe the game would have had a better chance🃏 of surviving.
The only evidence of Jane Foster comes from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a Twitter leaker known as Miller who has reliably leaked some Marvel’s Avengers skins in the past. Miller says he previously expected She-Hulk to be the next character added to the game, but that Crystal Dynamics has shifted the schedule so that Jane Foster can jo🅘in the roster in conjunction with the release of Thor: Love and Thunder in July, while She-Hulk will be released closer to the start of the Sh🔯e-Hulk series on Disney+.
While it’s likely too little too late, I can’t help but wonder how this kind of planning might have helped Marvel’s Avengers gain some momentum last year. When Kate 🌃Bishop joined as the first post-launch character, followed shortly by Clint Barton, there wasn’t a lot of enthusiasm around those characters. Kate Bishop had not yet made her MCU debut, and even among comics knowers she’s a relatively obscure hero. If Kate and Hawkeye had joined after the start of Hawkeye on Disney+, I’d wager the reaction would have been a lot more positive. I respect that games Marvel’s Avengers and Midnight Suns want to make their own mark on the Marvel Universe, but there’s nothing wrong with leaning on the MCU and giving people what they ꦯwant.
Marvel has had this problem for a long time, even before Marvel’s Avengers. When the Guardians of 🌼the Galaxy movie was announced, there was no current Guardians of the Galaxy book. The last one had been canceled in 2010, and if MCU fans went to the comic shop to learn about this team, they would have had very few options. Star-Lord, Rocket, and Groot all got solo series in 2014 that tied into the movie, but we didn’t get another flagship Guardians of the Galaxy book until 2015, a year after the movie came out. In that series, Star-Lord and Gamora left the team and were replaced by Kitty Pryde and the Thing.
I would hate to see the MCU dictate all of the books and games that take place in the Marvel Universe, but it would be nice to see some consideration pa🦋id. It feels like a missed opportunity when Loki is a huge hit on Disneyꦅ+ but if you turn towards the comic rack or live service game he’s nowhere to be found.
That’s all changing with Jane Foster, it seems. Jane will once again wield Mjolnir in the comics this summer in a limited series called Jane Foster & the Mighty Thor, and if the rumors are true about Marvel’s Avengers, then we finally have a big united push between every avenue around a ne🍃w(ish) character.
I know Crystal Dynamics wasn’t able to produce new characters as quickly as it first anticipated, but I can only imagine how much healthier the game would be right now if Wanda, Loki, Falcon, or the Winter Soldier ha♏d been added when they were timely. Moon Knight is the nex𒊎t missed opportunity, but at least with Jane the stars will finally align.
