Nike brought back its infamous Clogposite sneaker earlier this year and unlike when it was first introduced 20 years ago, the slip-on shoes have been an unmitigated hit at the second time of asking. So much so that Marvel has already come knocking to work on a Clogposite collab with🅷 Nike, and by the end of the year, there will be a Green Goblin pair you can pick up and slip on in time for the holidays.
Nike's Green Goblin Clogposites appear to have been designed with Willem Dafoe's portrayal of the supervillain in mind. Understandable since that's likely the image conjured up in most people's minds when they think of the Green Goblin. The shoes are a metallic green to mimic Green Goblin's armor with blac🌸k on the top and sole, and silver patches on the sides. Nike ticks are embossed on the green and black parts of each Cloposite, just so anyone who sees them knows they're the real deal.

An exact release date for the Green Goblin Clogposites hasn't been revealed, but there has been confirmation that they will be available to buy before the end of the year. Based on the price of other ꦅClogposite designs, the sneakers will likely cost $140. As for how random this appears to be, if you know your Green Goblin sneaker lore, it's not as out of the blue - or green - as it appears for Nike to team up with Marvel on a shoe like this.

In his first appearance as the Green Goblin in 2002, Dafoe's villain wore Nike Flightposite sneakers which were custom-made for the movie. It was rumored that those sneakers,ꦉ or an iteration of them, would be available to buy at the turn of the year, before the Clogposite had made i✤ts triumphant return. These Green Goblin Clogposites are likely the manifestation of that rumor. No, they're not quite like the shoes Norman Osborn's baddie wore in the original Spidey movie, but they'll probably be the closest we ever get to wearing them ourselves.
Dafoe's Green Goblin getting this much love 22 years after his first appearance was not something I ever anticipated, but that'll happen when you crack open the multiverse and bring back a villain this good played by an actor this great. Not only has Dafoe's Goblin now got his own Nike-made footwear, but earlier this year Marvel Legends released a replica Green♋ Goblin mask and toy Pumpkin Bombs. At this rate, by summer 2025, we'll have a complete Gre🗹en Goblin fit.
