Well thankfully, Mario Kart World comes with a photo mode of its ow🥂n. An actual photo mode, not some oddly modified function that gives you no control over the actual workings of the camera, or keeping it locked to just the play♛er. Mario Kart World's photo mode is good, if not still a tad limited. Here's how to use it.
How To Use Photo Mode
Mario Kart World's photo mode is never more than a click away, at least in the scenarios where it can be used. It can be opened in one of two ways - Either by pausing the game and pressing the Minus (-) button, or by just pressing the Minus button in the middle of gameplay. This will pause the game and bring up the phot𝔍o mode alongside the guide to all its functions and controls.
This can be used in any single-player mode to pause the game and snap a stylish image, not just in free-roam. Of course, this is restricted in online modes where it might be a bit unfair to give you a different view of the course. That said, with Free Roam being non-competitive, you can still use photo mode there when playing with others, it just won't pause the game.
Every Function Of Photo Mode
The photo mode in Mario Kart World is a step above most other photo modes featured in Nintendo's own games, though it lacks some of the more complex features of its contemporaries. That said, it still gives you enough control to create some gorgeous images with a nice degree of free🍎dom to p🎐ivot the camera around.
Here are each of its features:
- Zoom - This is fairly simple, allowing you to zoom the camera in and out. It begins at the most zoomed out by default
- Tilt - This lets you tilt the camera 90 degrees clockwise and counter-clockwise. So no upside-down shots, but the next best thing.
- Pose - This cycles through a series of different poses, unique to each character and type of vehicle.
- Expression - This cycles through a series of expressions unique to each character. These are compatible with every Pose.
- Face Camera - This causes the player character to look directly at the camera. They do not follow, so you can use this to make them look in a specific direction.
- Focus - This changes the focus between the player character, and the centre where the camera is looking.
- Frame - This lets you cycle through a total of 13 different frames to customise your shot.
Standard features, but with a camera that also has a decent amount of room to move around.
Make sure to turn off the guide with Plus (+) befo꧒re taking a screenshot, or else all of꧂ the UI will be included in your screenshot.
