The first Tekken was released in 1994 on arcades and a year later on consoles. Because of that, Tekken now has decades of lore, being a huge series that was never rebooted, where information started piling up, being retconned, or sometimes ignored. It's no wonder all recent Tekken games come with lore dumps for beginners interested in what is happening.

Use these tips and tricks to become The King o🧸f the Iron Fist Champion in Tekken 8!

Still, more recent games have also given more attention to their story modes. Tekken 8 is definitely the king in this regard, with a unique and beautifully exaggerated story that only Tekken can do, giving proper continuatio🔥n from story arcs that started four to five games ago. How did things get to where they are now?

Many spoilers ahead

Tekken 1

A Tale Of Father And Son

Our story begins with Heihachi Mishima, head of Mishima Zaibatsu, a company dedicated to weapon manufacture, which became a military-grade weaponry powerhouse under Heihachi's leadership.

While training his son, Kazuya (who was five then), Heihachi considered him weak and threw him off a cliff, believing that if his son was strong, he'd survive the fall. Kazuya survived and trained for many years so he could kill his father and take over the company. Tekken 7 changes Heihachi's motivation for throwing Kazuya off the cliff, as we'll see.

Eventually, by the time Kazuya was 26 years old, Heihachi organized a tournament, The King of the Iron Fist Tournament, offering a large sum of money, with him being the final opponent. That's when Kazuya took the opportunity to seek his revenge, defeating Heihachi 𝄹and throwing him off the same cliff he ha꧂d been thrown as a child.

Sadly, there's no clear year or date as to when each game takes place other than a few time skips, so we'll use Kazuya's age as a reference.

Tekken 2

A Tale Of Son And Father

Kazuya (28), head of Mishima Zaibatsu for the past two years, proved to be a far worse person, using his assets to pave his way to world domination. Curiously, that involved animal experimentation, which is the reason why another important character will ap🌳pear.

There are also rumors that Kazuya made a pact with the Devil. That part used to be true, with the pact saving him from the cliff fall, but this was retconned into 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Devil Gene.

Kazuya held another tournament, which two key characters, Jun Kazama and Heihachi Mishima, entered. Jun worked for a wildlife protection organization, and entered the tournament to stop animal experimentation.

Still, she's highly linked to her spiritual side, with the Kazama family having powerful purification powers, and noticed the Devil inside Kazuya, which made her want to save him from it. Details are scarce here, but Jun and Kazuya developed feelings for one another.

As for Heihachi, he wanted revenge for Kazuya's takeover and being thrown from the cliff. Heihachi entered the tournament, defeated his son, and threw him off a volcano this time, killing Kazuya for good — at least for now, as some important characters here have a hard♏ time staying dead.

Tekken 3

Enter The Grandson

Tekken 3 has the most significant time skip thus far. Ten years after the second tournament, Heihachi and his private army, Tekken Force, uncovered a creature known as Ogre, a mysterious entity from the past who was seen as a God by ancient cultures. Unleashed, Ogre began searching the world for powerful opponents to defeat.

Ogre attacked multiple people, including Jun, killing her (for now). At this time, Jun had a son, Jin Kazama, who she had with Kazuya before he died.

Jun predicted such an outcome and advised her son to search for his grandfather, Heihachi, in case anything happened. Things happened; he went to Heihachi aꩵnd began training to av💃enge his mother., where he trained until he was 19 years old.

Heihachi wanted to capture Ogre to experiment on him, so he trained Jin to defeat the monster. Then, he organized another ⭕tournament, bringing many strong fighters together, believing that would attract Ogre (it worked) so Jin could🔯 kill Ogre for him.

Jin and Ogre fought; the monster revealed his true form, but Jin still won. Then, Heihachi decided to get rid of his grandson.

That was when Heihachi discovered that Jin inherited Kazuya's demonic powers, transforming for the first time. He escaped death, but that's how things end for now.

Though not one-to-one, Tekken: Bloodline, a Netflix series, is a go💟od adaptation of this story.

Tekken 4

Kazuya Returns

Two years later, Heihachi goes after Jin because he needs the Devil Gene for experiments with Ogre's body. Meanwhile, G Corporation, a biotech company, used Kazuya's remains to study the gene and brought him back to life (now 49), which Heihachi discovered.

Heihachi then announced a tournament, offering the company itself as a prize (which became a staple from now onward), luring Kazuya into showing up.

This also worked on Jin, who wanted revenge for the previous game.

Heihachi captures both, and Devil Kazuya notices the Devil within Jin. That was when Kazuya overcame his Devil and learned to control his powers, but since he's a bad person either way, he still wanted to take Jin's power.

Ultimately, Jin proved too much for Kazuya, defeating him and Heihachi afterward. However, by being reminded ofღ his mother and her kindness, he spa🦂red both and left.

Tekken 5

A Beautiful Side Quest

Tekken 5 doesn't continue the main plot that much in the grand scheme of things. 50 years before this game, Heihachi imprisoned his father, Jinpachi Mishima, and took over the company.

Immediately after the end of Tekken 4, Heihachi and Kazuya were ambushed, resulting in an explosion.

This explosion resulted in people believing Heihachi died (though he still appears in this game) and released Jinpachi, who was possessed by an evilꦺ sp♎irit during the events of this game.

With the current leader of the Zaibatsu declared dead, Jinpachi took his company back.

Things get pretty outrageous this time around.

Jinpachi, fearing the spirit would take over for good, announced a tournament, hoping that a great fighter would emerge and kill him, sparing him of his fate. Jin showed up, saving his great-grandfather from this vengeful spirit by killin🦂g him.

The biggest consequence of this story is that this victory turned Jin Kazama into the head of Mishima Zaibatsu.

From now on, all time skips will be mere months, though the꧒re have been enough games for approximately two to three years to hav𓄧e passed.

Between the events of Tekken 4 to 8, Kazuya, our time reference, goes from 49 to approximately 51, give or take one year.

Tekken 6

Now With A Proper Story Mode

In control of the Zaibatsu, Jin cut ties with all nations and declared war against everybody. The key members in the fight against the Zaibatsu were G Corporation and a group of rebellious Tekken Force soldiers, lat🌼er named Yggdrasil, who disagreed with the fight led by Lars Alexandersson.

Lars is the protagonist this time, who suffers from amnesia in the beginning and goes on a journey with the android Alisa Bosconovitch to find out who he is. He learns about his past, being an illegitimate child of Heihachi, and conti൩nues his original mission and tries to stop Jin and his war.

In the end, Jin's goal was to create enough chaos in the world to wake Azazel, the first Devil and the one responsible for the Devil Gene. He wished to wake the creature to destroy it, ending the source of the Devil Gene once and for all, as Jin treats the Devil Gene as a curse that needs to be terminated.

After destroying Azazel, Jin disappeared, only to be found later by Raven. Still, that disappearance left the 'head of Mishima Zaibatsu' position open, as Jin is badly injured from his fight against Azazel and needs time to recover (story-wise, he appears little in the following game).

Tekken 7

The Devil's Source

Lots of backstory changes happened in Tekken 7. Kazumi, Heihachi's wife, turned out to be the source of the Devil Gene in the Mishima family, with her Devil attempting to kill him.

Heihachi, afraid that Kazuya could have the same demonic powers, threw him off the cliff, the event mentiꦬoned in Tekken 1.

This is a version of the story told by Heihachi to the public through a journalist, so there's a chance details were altered to make him look better.

Back to the present, Heihachi reclaimed the Zaibatsu after Jin's disappearance and annoཧunced a tournament to lure in Kazuya, who became the head of G Corporation.

He used all possible schemes to make the Devil inside Kazuya public and make himself look like a hero in the public eye, while Kazuya, even out as a Devil, managed to keep things under control through sheer force.

The Mishimas have always been at the center of Tekken's lore. Weꦅ ranked every member of the fa๊mily.

Meanwhile, they both had to deal with Akuma (yes, that Akuma), a friend of Kazumi who had sworn to kill both Heihachi and Kazuya for her because she believed they'd throw the world into chaos (which she wasn't wrong). Akuma decided to wait all these years, though, so fighting these two would be challenging for him.

After lots of fighting between the two, Heihachi and Kazuya end their dispute once and for all, with Kazuya killing Heiachi and throwing him off a volcano and destroying the Zaibatsu for good. Meanwhile♓, Jin recovered from his fight against Azazel and was ready to🌳 fight Kazuya.

Tekken 8

Another Tale Of Father And Son

begins with Jin trying to defeat ⭕Kaz🌱uya and end the Devil Gene once and for all.

Many people are helping him, from Lars to Kazuya's adopted brother Lee Chaolan, to Jin's friends Hwoarang and Ling Xiaoyu, and demon-killers Claudio and Zafina, among others, including a mysterious new character, Reina. She fought Jin to understand how to trigger the Devil Gene aᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚnd proceeded to put herself in multiple near-death scenarios to act꧃ivate her gene.

Kazuya announced a tournament, claiming that whoever lost it would die and have their home country destroyed. However, the tournament didn't go too far, as our heroes launched an assault against Kazuya.

That was when Kazuya took the soul of Azazel trapped in Zafina, resurrecting the beast only to absorb its power, becoming even more powerful.

While the heroes attempted to hold Kazuya off, Jin went to Yakushima under Zafina's advice, where he learned to be at peace with his inner Devil, combining his Mishima blood with his Kazama purification powers, turning his Devil form into an Angel form.

He used this power against Devil Kazuya, where the purification and corruption annulled one another, making both characters lose their powers and become mortals. They continued fighting, and Jin defeated Kazuya but without killing him. Now Reina, another of Heihachi's illegitimate children, is the only Devil left standing that we know of.
