Traveling between planes in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Magic: The Gathering is a rare feat, usually only capable for planeswalkers or those with access to advanced ꦜtechnology. Each world in Magic is its own self-contained universe in a way, with little or no way to leave or travel between them.
It takes a massive amount of magical energy to leave a plane, something that most people, even some of the strongest entities in Magic, will never achieve. Which makes the🤪 Realmbreaker such an ominous sign of things to come for the Multiverse. Cultivated by Elesh Norn and grown in the center of New Phyrexia, the Realmbreaker was grown for 🔯one purpose, to Compleat every plane within its reach.
A Brief History Of Portals Across The Multiverse
Eons ago, at the height of the ancient and mostly lost Thran empire, a portal to what would eventually become the original Phyrexia was opened in Koilos. This prison city used to house outcasts and dissidents bef♐ore becoming the launching point for Phyrexi𝐆a’s creator, Yawgmoth, to invade Dominaria. The Portal at Koilos was lost for thousands of years before it became operational again when it was discovered by brothers Urza and Mishra who accidentally activated it.
In the thousands of years between the era of The Brothers’ War and the Invasion of Dominaria, Phy🤡rexians and Urza perfected the use of portals to open up pathways between planes. Much like planeswalkers, these pathways transport people across the Blind Eternities, the space between planes, to bring them to their destination.
The Phyrexians devised other means to transport massive numbers of troops, including a process of overlaying a plane on top of an existing one, in an event called the Rathi Overlay, though the process seems to have been lost. When Karn, Jeska, Teferi and others healed the time rifts in Dominaria and saved the Multiverse, all non-planeswalker a🐼rtificial travel ceased to work.
Since then, the only new technology developed that can transport beings across planes is Rashmi’s Planar Bridge, which wa👍s stolen by Tezzeret and traded to Elesh Norn and the Phyrexians, through organic matter like flesh cannot survive the trip.
Interplanar Tree Heist
Realmbreaker originated from the plane of Kaldheim, a world of ten realms both separated and joined by the World Tree. On Kaldheim, the World Tree is the origin of all life on the plane and is constantly visible in the sky as it connects all realms of the plane. The Phyrexian Praetor Vorniclex infiltrated Kaldheim through an unknown means to steal a bit of tyrite, an extremely potent magical substance that is developed from thꦆe sap of the World Tree.
Tyrite is a unique material with the appearance of an aurora in solid form. What intrigued the Phyrexians the most, however, is the substance’s abilit🔜y to forcibly connect planes, which the World Tree uses to keep the Ten Realms together. With the stolen tyrite in hand, Vo🐎rniclex returned to New Phyrexia to enact the next stage of Elesh Norn’s plan.
Creating The Seedcore And Planting Realmbreaker
With a piece of the World Tree under her influence, Elesh Norn got to work cultivating her own version of the tree. In a chamber called the Seedcore, deep in the innermost layer of New Phyrexia, Elesh Norn got to work growing Realmbreaker. The Seedcore is a familiar place for Magic fans, having been both Memnarch&rsq🙈uo;s Darksteel Panopticဣon as well as Karn’s old throne room and prison.
Now housing the twisted botanical garden to grow Realmbreaker, Phyrexia’s massive Invasion Tree, much of the structure has become dedicated 🍌to cultivating the tree. Realmbreaker started small, a sapling among the porcelain white structures that Elesh Norn built in honor of herself. From its branches, oil hung in a twisted facsimile of budding leaves. As it grew, Realmbreaker created what Kaldheim natives call Omenpaths.
By the time the Gatewatch and other planeswalkers infiltrated New Phyrexia, Realmbreaker was almost full🍬y grown. Muc🔥h like the World Tree it is massive, too big to observe all at once. Instead of the enchanted bark of the World Tree, Realmbreaker has been corrupted to look more like its creator, Elesh Norn. White, porcelain bark with streaks of red flesh adorn the Invasion Tree. In sections where the red flesh peeks out, glistening oil weeps like an open wound.
From its branches hung massive invasion ships which are to be used to invade connecting planes. These ships hang on branches that appea🍎r to be somewhat incorporeal as they exist so close to the Blind Eternities that they seem to be fading from existence.Even standing before Realmbreaker has strange effects on a person’s body. The air appears electrified and has a taste described to be of ‘aether’. Being in the presence of Realmbreaker will begin the Phyresis process, turning the unfortunate observer into a Phyrexian over time.
Failed Destruction And Activation
Determined to put a stop to Elesh Norn’s plan, the Gatewatch and other planeswalkers brought with them a reconstructed Sylex, an impossibly powerful and destructive bomb that once ravaged Dominaria when activated by Urza at the end of The Brothers&rsquoﷺ; War. As Jace, Kaya, and Kaito reached the base of Realmbreaker with the Sylex in hand, an almost completely infected Jace tried to detonate the Sylex in the final moments before he fully succumbed to the Phyresis process.
Only moments before, however, Realmbreaker finally reached its full potential and in a flash of blinding white light it united with an unknown number of planes. Kaya and Kaito hesitated to use the Sylex with Realmbreaker activated, but Jace, desperate from his impending Phyresis and broken by the might of Phyrexia, began the detonation process for the Sylex. He was interrupted by Elspeth, fresh off her fight with a compleated Ajani, who stabbed Jace and planeswalked away with the detonating Sylex, leaving to an unknown pl🔯ane.
Since linking to the greater Multiverse, Realmbreaker h൲as paved the way for Elesh Norn’s invasion to reach several planes. Aranzhur, Cabralin, Ilcae, Mirrankkar, Obsidias have already fallen to the Machine Legion, with the region of Alara known as Esper in the process of being invaded.
Realmbreaker Unites The Multiverse
Much like th⛦e World Tree of Kaldheim, Realmbreaker exists to unite the planes of the Multiverse together. The scope of how many worlds Realmbreaker can reach is still unknown. The Multiverse contains a near-infinite number of worlds, with more than 70 named planes in Magic’s lore.
Realmbreaker can connect all these planes through passages called Omenpaths. These pathways allow access from one plane to the next, and appear to be more st𓄧able than those the World Tree creates in Kaldheim. Due to an unknown process by Elesh Norn, these pathways will allow for her invasion forces to lay siege upon other planes. It is unknown if Realmbreaker is capable of creating a Doomskar, a cataclysmic event caused by two realms drifting too close to each other, as the creation of an Omenpath is often a sign that a Doomskar is likely to occur.
On Kaldheim, the World Tree existed in a space between realms called the Cosmos. Since Realmbreaker is planted firmly at New Phyrexia&rsqu🌸o;s🥃 Core, it may have become an integral part of the plane’s structure.
