168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Magic: The Gathering's long-awaited Netflix series is a project that's been shrouded in mystery for a number of years. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:First announced in 2019, it was first reported that the Russo brothers would executive produce ♑the series, but voluntarily left the project in 2021 over differences in vision. It was later reported in 2021 that a new creative team had been put in place, led by Transformers: Prime executive producer Jeff Kline.

It was then announced that a screening of the show would take place in the second half of 2022, but the series mysteriously vanished following the cancelation of several high-profile animation projects in that same year. The last we heard of the project was in 2023, as the series was confirmed to be still in the works by Hasbro's CEO in an earnings call.

However, it now seems as though the series has been scrapped for good. Netflix, Hasbro, nor 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Wizards of the Coast have made an announcement yet, but lead actor Brandon Routh has now claimed that the show is "not happening." Routh was set to voice lead character Gideon Jura, but has claimed to that the show isn't going ahead.

"I'm not sure. I did do a voice for it. As far as I understand, nobody's put out a press release about it, but apparently it's not happening. That's kind of old news. I'm not sure why it's surfacing again."

It's not all that surprising news. Netflix will very happily cancel shows that it doesn't think have much promise, and so much radio silence surrounding the project despite it being in a finished enough state for a screening in 2022 was always a bad sign. It also wouldn't have made much sense narratively either, as main character Gideon Jura has been dead in the story of Magic: The Gathering for the past five years.

If the show has been scrapped as Routh has suggested, we'll most likely get an announcement soon, or in another earnings call from Hasbro, if the company doesn't just omit the series entirely. Either way, if you were looking forward to the show, it's best to get your disappointment out now rather than wait for an official cancelation.
