10 🧸 Monstrous V⛄ortex

A Monstrous Effect

Monstrous Vortex by Deruchenko Alexander

A slightly unassuming enchantment, Monstrous Vortex is a powerhouse, especially i꧋n creature-based green decks. These decks often suffer from a problem where they run out of gas relatively quickly, something you won’t have to worry about as much with this enchantment.

Anytime you cast a creature spell that has a power of five or more, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:you get to discover for whatever that creature’s mana value is. There are around 2,000 creatures with a power𓆉 o🌄f five or more, so you’ll have no shortage of creatures to trigger this effect.

9 E✤mrakul, The World Anew

The World Is Yours

Emrakul, the World Anew by Brent Hollowell

Okay, so twelve mana is a kind of a tall order even for Commander, but the great thing about the Eldrazi titans is that they can generally slot into any deck tha𓃲nks 𝐆to their completely colorless mana costs.

This new Emrakul is an Insurrection on a body, letting you gain control o♎f all creatures one of your opponent’s controls, permanently. As if that wasn’t enough, there’s three more abilities slapped on this creature, all coming together in a game-ending 12/12 body.

8 💃 Birthing Ritual 🍷

Trade Up Your Creatures

Birthing Ritual by Drew Tucker

An enchantment with plenty of potential, Birthing Ritual takes the Birthing Pod mechanic and turns it into an automatic effect. At the start of your end s🌠tep, so long as you have a creature in play, you get to take a peek at the top seven cards of your deck, though you can’t change the order of those card🤡s.

Modern Horizon 3 has four Commander decks coming with it, and in those decks you can find some spic🐷y reprints𓂃.

1

After reviewing your deck, you can sacrifice one one your creatures, grabbing another creature with a mana value of one more the sacrificed creature or lower, and put that creature directly into play. While it is a bit more random than your average Pod deck, making it a little less reliable than your average toolbox stra🌺tegy, it still has plenty of pote♔ntial.

7 Flare Of Cultivation 𒊎

Free Ramp Is The Best Kind

Flare of Cultivation by Billy Christian

There are plenty of free spells running around Commander nowadays, and Modern Horizons 3 is introducing a whole new wave of spells to the mix. Flare of Cultivation is perhaps the best of the new cycle, functionally letting you🉐 cast a Cultivate on your fཧirst turn of the game.

The best way to play this card is to drop a one mana creature on your first turn, like an Arboral Grazer or an Elvish P♎ioneer, and you can jump ahead of your opponents in lands on the first turn while still having a land in hand for turn two.

6 🌟 Shifting Woodland 🍬

Your Graveyard Is Open For Business

Shifting Woods by Josu H]ernaiz

One of the 168澳洲🃏幸运5开奖🏅网:best lands to come out of Magic in recent times, Shifting Woodland is a fantastic utility land that turns your graveyard into a tool box. For four mana, you can have Shifting Woodland become a copy of a perm﷽anent card in your graveyard for th💮e turn.

Having to hit the Delirium cost of four different card types in the graveyard is𒆙 super easy to do before you hit the four mana required to activate its ability. If your Commander deck is running green, t🍌here’s practically no excuse not to run this card.

5 Null Elemental Blast 💟 💜

Nothing Hurts Like An Elemental Blast

Null Elemental Blast by Nilivoi Ceran

Some of the best one-mana spells in Magic’s history are Red Elemental Blast and Blue Elemental Blast, two old cards from Magic’s early 🧔days. Null Elemental Blast is the modern and colorless iteration, taking the cycle to a new level.

Modern Horizons sets have a great L꧑imited track record. Will the third outing keep up?

Casting Null Elemental Blast is a bit more difficult than its predecessors, requiring a colorlꦛess mana to cast, you get to counter a multicolored spell or a multicolored permanent. So much of Commander is dedicated to flashy, multicolored spells, meaning you’ll more likely than not have a target for it. Slap this bad boy on an Isochron Scepter, and you’ll never have to worry about multicolored spells again.

4 Wight Of The Reliqꦆuary

Knight Turned Wight

Wight of the Reliquary by Scott Murphy

A throwback to the Alara block, Wight of the Reliquary is the zombified version of Knight of the R✃eliquary, a very strong green and white creature, that has since fallen under the spell of some of the more vile forces that have invaded the lands.

This Wight is mechanically similar to the Knight, though it now gets +1/+1 for each creature in your graveyard, instead of each land. Then you can t🧜ap the Wight and sacrifice a creature to go search your library for any land, putting it d♓irectly into play. Arguably, this is a huge upgrade over the original creature, since it is generally easier to get creatures into the graveyard than it is lands, not to mention being cheaper in mana cost and an added vigilance ability to let you attack and activate its ability in the same turn.

3 Strix Serenade ဣ

Just As Pretty As A Swan

Strix Serenade by Filipe Pagliuso

Modern Horizons 3 i🌠s all about ch🐻anging up established cards, and Strix Serenade does a great job at that. A new iteration of the staple counterspell Swan Song, Strix Serenade is functionally very similar, just changing the targets that it can counter.

For one blue mana Strix Serenade can counter an artifact, creature, or planeswalker spell, covering the other three main card types that Swan Song misses. Your opponent still gಌets a 2/2 Bird token, but that’s nothing in exchange for stopping a bomb like Ugin, th🐷e Spirit Dragon or your opponent’s commander from entering play.

2 🍒 🌼 Winter Moon

Too Cold To Untap

Winter Moon by Drew Baker

An updated version of the classic Magic card Winter Orb, Wint🐲er Moon is a nightmare for decks that play tons of extra nonbasic lands, slowl🍌y grinding them out of the game. For just two mana you get an artifact that prevents players from untapping more than one nonbasic land during their untap step.

This is a universal effect, hitting your nonbasic lands as well as your opponents, but ღunder the right conditions this isn’t a problem for you. This type of soft lock will likely make you a target of practically every player, but if you stock up on protection or removal spells, you’ll be good to go.

1 🦹 Harbinger O🍸f The Seas

Everything’s All Wet Now

Harbringer of the Seas by Winona Nelson

One of the more frustrating cards to go up against in Magic is the dreaded Blood Moon and the creature counterpart, Magus of the Moon. Having everyone’s nonbasic lands become Mountains can cut certain decks coܫmpletely out of th🍌e game, paving the way to victory.

Harbinger of the Seas is the blue version of Magus of the Moon, turning all nonbasic lands into Islands instead. This can be a tricky situation for most decks to gꩵet out of since turning off most of a player’s lands can cut them entirely out of the game.
