Among the more sinister tactics in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Magic: The Gathering is stealing your opponents' cards to use against them. Theft is a key part of the blue/black Dimir decks (though it has spread to other colors) and is a very fun, if notorious, way to play Commander.

While many commanders can be built around this theme in one way or another, these commanders have theft as part of their core identity. Playing these commanders is sure to strike your opponents with fear as they realize their carefully crafted decks are about to be turned 🌟against them.

10 ꩲ Zareth San, The Trickster

Magic The Gathering Zareth San the Trickster MTG card

Zareth San is a reanimating commander that steals your opponents' graveyard to add to your own. His ability can affect any permanent, from creatures to planeswalkers to even lands, ensuring every deck has something they can lose. While his ability does not serve to add cards to graveyards, many Rogues do, and, for that reason he is a big staple in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Rogue Commander decks.

However, Zareth San often works better in the 99 rat๊her than as a commander, as his ninjutsu-like ability cannot trigger from the command zone.

9 ꦉ Admiral Beckett Brass 𒀰

MTG: Admiral Beckett Brass card

Steal and plunder your opponents' cards in true Pirate form with Beckett Brass. A strict pirate-focused card, Beckett Brass looks to land hits on opponents with at least three pirates to gain permanent control over any nonland permanent.

As many pirates have either flying or menace, this should not be a difficult endeav🌄or, provide💛d you can establish a board state. However, what mainly keeps her down is that her effect only triggers once each turn, and only for one permanent, greatly hindering her ability as a theft commander.

8 ♋Evelyn, The Covetous

MTG: Evelyn, the Covetous card

Evelyn is an interesting Vampire commander, looking to summon as ma🃏ny Vampires as possible to get as many cards into exile with collection counters as you can. As Evelyn does not have a restriction on what cards she can play, she can easily turn opponents instants into useful effects that she can cast each turn. She may even play land,s should you need the ramp on each of your turns, making her universally useful as a theft commander.

Lastly, Vampires are another underutilized, but very effective, theft archetype. Many Vampires can steal opponents' creatures, often permanently. Things like Olivia Voldaren and Captivating Vampire serve as useful theft cards to creatures, allowing you to trigger Evelyn multiple times.

7 Breeches, Brazen Plunderer // Ma𓃲lcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator

Breeches, Brazen Plunder // Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator Magic Card Split

Another Pirate commander, this time a pair. Breeches drives the stealing aspect of this Commander deck, but Malcolm is a useful ramp enabler that synergizes very well with Breec꧃hes, forming a perfect pairing of the two.

Once again, this deck relies on pirates landing hits to trigger both Treasure generation and the steal effects. What makes Breeches more ubiquitous than Beckett Brass is his capacity t༺o steal a card from each opponent, rather than just one, adding more value. On top of that, he has menace, making him more capable as a player-hitter than Beckett.

6 Captain N'ghathrod

MTG: Captain N'ghathrod card

Captain N'ghathrod supports the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:oft-forgotten Horrors of Magic. Horrors have many different effects, from sacrifice outlets to drawing cards. They never had a really coherent theme, but Captain N'ghathrod brings them together as mill machines, resurrecting what is then put into the graveyard.

While it only affects artifacts and creatures, the effect is instant, and is reliable enough given the amount of both in your average Commander decks. Even if you're somehow not hitting artifacts and creatures, Captain N'ghathrod provides an alternate mill win con that supports his own abilities, and for that he is truly one of the best.

5 Tasha, Th🍃e Witch Queen 🌳

Tasha by Martina Fackova - MTG BBG art

Planeswalkers as commanders💃 can be a difficult to pull off. They need immediate v🌄alue to be useful, and must be protected to have long-term impact. Tasha provides card draw and exiles instants and sorceries to be used later with her negative ability.

However, what makes her shine in theft decks is her passive, which generates huge value from any card you manage to steal by creating a 3/3 upon casting spells you've stolen. This makes a solid bodyguard and a good board presence, especially if you can gain a lot of stolen cards.

At five cost, she is a bit slow, and cannot intrinsically protect herself save with her passive. However, since they can be made at instant speed, depending on the stolen cards, she can largely get a lo🐭t of value out before she is taken out and is a great theft commander as a result.

4 🌠 Empress Galina 💮

Magic The Gathering Empress Galina

Empress Galina is an old card, first appearing in 2000's Invasion set. However, she should not be 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:underestimated as a commander. For꧅ just two blue, she can steal any legendary ✱permanent, which includes any commander.

This effect is permanent and cannot be undone, save by restore🃏 control effects, bouncing to hand, or flickering. With the amount of legendary lands, artifacts, planeswalkers, enchantments, and creatures available, Galina is hugely powerful and can be the singular cause of all theft b꧑y herself.

3 Zara, Renegade Re✱cruiter

Zara Renegade Recruiter Magic

Zara is a huge presence on the board. Upon attacking, Zara reveals your opponent's entire hand and steals any creature on top of giving them haste. This effect can be absurdly powerful, as not only does she steal regardless of cost, but she can trigger both enter-the-battlefield effects and on-hit effects of your opponent's cards on the same turn.

With proper sacrifice outlets, you can even remove their creatures entirely for your own benefit. Lastly, since Zara reveals your opponent's hand and has access to blue mana, you can easily prepare counters for your opponents best spells.

2 𒀰 Xanathar, Guild Kingpin

MTG Xanathar, Guild Kingpin card

Xanathar is a nasty commander. Not only does he shut down one opponent entirely on your turn (which is a great way of preventing a player with a hand full of control spells from scuppering your plans), but he can steal your opponents' cards right from the top of their deck.

While he doe🌃s have to use your own mana, this effect is stil🐈l absurdly powerful and can deny opponents the strategic cards they need, while setting up less advantageous cards to be their next draw.

1 Sen Triplets 🅷 ༒

Like a stricꦰtly-better Xanathar, Sen Triplets also controls an opponent. Like Xanathar, they shut down one opponent completely but, while Xanathar only top-decks your opponents, Sen Triplets can steal directly from their hand. This is a far more powerful effect as it effectively can shut an opponent out of counters and responses, while decimating their hand and denying them options to fix it.

There is a reason Sen Triplets is a notoriously feared card; while theft can be fun, Sen Triplets takes it to a new level that can alienate your friends. Nevertheless, they are absurdly powerful theft commanders, just make sure you're talking to the table before you start playing to make sure everyone knows what they're in for.
