Free Artifact And Enchantment Removal

Early Magic had this idea that players would tap lands for mana and use that mana to cast spells. "As Garfield intended," as players say. But at some point Magic started printing free spells, and the game hasn't been the same since.

Force of Vigor's not technically free, in the sense that you have to exile a card from your hand, but the point is that it doesn't cost mana. Like any free-to-cast card, Force of Vigor can catch players completely off guard, disrupting the boardstate when they would normally assume you can't interact at all.

'Summer' and 'Winter' are terms you don't want associated with a Magic card. This usually denotes a period of time where something was so powerful in a Constructed format that it absolutely snuffed out any realistic competition. Such was the case with Hogaak Summer.

Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis is an awesome card purely from a card design perspective: It's an expensive creature that can only be cast using a combination of different mechanics.
