A🐷 massively explosive card in Magic, Exploration d🍎oes only one thing, but does it exceptionally well. For one green mana you get this enchantment that lets you play one extra land during your turn.

While i🐻t doesn’t seem like a lot at first, the amount of resources that this card can help acceꦿlerate you in will put you several turns ahead of your opponents in games like Commander. If you have access to five or six mana on turn three, you can cast anything from a medium-cost commander to a game-warping spell.

Since many of the most powerful cards 🐼in Maꦰgic have had only limited printings, you can expect them to climb in price over time. That’s exactly what happened to the green creature Argothian Enchantress.

Another card that has seen an exceptionally limiting printing, Time Sprial has been printed exactly one time and that's in Urza’s Saga. For six mana each player gets to shuffle their hand, graveyard, and library together and then draw seven new cards. You also get to untap six lands after casting it, making Time Spiral essentially free, or even better, giving you more mana than what you started with.

Time Spiral is a part of🐼 another cycle of ‘free spell’s cards that return your investmജents in them to let you keep casting more and more powerful cards. Given its exclusivity and power, it makes sense that this card maintains its high price.

As we get further into this list we’re going to see more and more cards that h🍃ad an exceptionally limited release, and Tolarian Academy is one of those cards. Another legendary land, Tolarian Academy can tap to add one blue mana for each artifact you coꦅntrol.

Obviously, this is a problem in Magic where there are tons of free artifacts, ar🉐tifact creatures, and even artifact lands. Tolarian Academy was one of the many cards that were banned less than a year after its release becaꦓuse of the copious amount of mana it can generate without any real way to ⛄stop it.

4 ꧅ Yawgmoth’s Will

Rare - $160.46

Speaking of way too powerful cards, Yawgmoth’s Will is a combo machine, letting you do practically anything you want in a game. For a paltry three mana, you can get to cast spells and play lands from your graveyard for the turn. If a card would go t🧜o your graveyard from anywhere this turn, you have to exile it but who cares about that.

Pair Yawgmoth’s Will with a few cards that pump out mana, like Dark Ritual, Lion’s Eye Diamond, or Cabal Ritual, you can build a high ꧃storm count and then win off the back of a Tendrils of Agony. There are rare but not impossible situations where you can win as early as turn 1.

3 𝕴 Serra’s Sanctum ⛄

Rare - $226.47

Much like Tolarian Academy, Serra’s Sanctum 💧is a land wholly dedicated to the production of mana, but with two key differences. Serra’s Sanctum adds white mana to your mana pool, and it is based on how many enchantments you control.

Serra’s Sanctum also saw a swift banning back in the day, though it is🃏 currently legal in any format you꧟ can play it in, like Legacy, Commander, and Vintage. Serra’s Sanctum is technically worse that Tolarian Academy, since enchantments are not as powerful as artifacts as a whole and don’t come free, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a highly sought-after card.

2 ꦏ Gilded Drake ൩

Rare - $236.47

An absurdly powerful creature for just two mana, Gilded Drake does so much work in a 𒅌game it can be game-warping. When it comes into play you get to swap control of Gilded Drake with another creature an opponent controls. It just permanently becomes yours, until it dies or changes zones⛄.

Stealing something like an opponent’s commander or combo piece can absolutely shut down their game plan, though you have to be care🌃ful since it is an aggressively unfun strategy. Gilded Drake is another cards that has had only a single prin♛ting, and since Competitive EDH finds this card to be a staple, the price continues to rise.

1 ꦡ Gaea’s Cradle

Rare - $823.74

There&rsquo🌟;s no denying that Gaea’s Cradle counts itself among some of the most powerful cards in the game. You can tap the Cradle to add green mana equal to the number of creatureꦏs you control. Given the number of ways to untap lands in green and how you can just as quickly pump out creatures and tokens, you can gain a ton of mana in no time.

Gaea’s Cradle, and many of the other cards here, is on the reserved list, meaning that Magic will never reprint the cards on the list ever again. Of course, there’s an occasional special edition or digital version, but otherwise, it makes the Urza’s Saga printing the only one that will ever occur. The reserved list also means that functional reprints, cards that have the same effect but with a different name, won't happen either.
