Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty takes 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Magic The Gathering to Kamigawa, a Japanese-inspired plane that fans have been begging to return for almost 20 years. But things are very different to how we last saw it, as the world has become a technologically-advanced cyberpunk plane, where tradition and technology press right up against each other.RELATED: 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Magic The Gathering: How To DraftWhether you're headed to a local pre-release event or playing on Magic The Gathering Arena, you'll want to know what the ten main 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:draft archetypes for Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty are.

White/Blue: Vehicles And Pilots

Walking Skyscraper by David Auden Nash

Vehicles are artifacts that you can 'crew' with your creatures. Tap enough creature for their collective power to equal the vehicle's crew cost, and the vehicle becomes an artifact creature ready to smash. There are many fantastic vehicles in this set, like Reckoner Bankbuster, Mindlink Mech, Mobilizer Mech, Surgehacker Mech, Thundersteel Colossus, and the ludicrously good Mechtitan Core.

There are also a lot of Pilot creatures, who have abilities that make crewing your vehicles easier or more lucrative. There are Pilot creatures, such as Hotshot Mechanic and Kitsune Ace, but there are also cards that can produce Pilot creature tokens, like Born to Drive, Prodigy's Prototype, and Mech Hangar.

Blue/Black: Ninjas

Dokuchi Shadow-Walker by Manuel Castañón

We couldn't have a 🉐Kamigawa set without Ninjas. These make use of the Ninjutsu mechanic, which allows an unblocked attacking creature to suddenly swap out with a Ninja in your hand.

There are lots of fantastic Ninjas with Ninjutsu in this set, like Moon-Circuit Hacker, Prosperous Thief, Dokuchi Silencer, Silver-Fur Master, and Nashi, Moon Sage's Scion. There's also the incredible legendary creature Satoru Umezawa, 🐭which gives Ninjutsu to ever♍y creature in your hand.

The Ninjas themselves are only one part of the archetype, though, as you need ways to slip past your opponent's defending creatures to activate Ninjutsu. There is a lot of evasion in blue and black that you can use to enable Ninjutsu, with creatures like Network Disruptor, Thousand-Faced Shadow, and Inkrise Infiltrator.

Black/Red: Artifact Sacrifice

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Aristocrats (sacrifice-heavy decks) are a common theme for Rakdos, but Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty gives it an artifact-themed twist. These𝐆 colours focus on getting lots of artifacts out, before sacrificing them for profit.

For instance, both Dockside Chef and Reckoner's Bargain let you sacrifice artifacts to draw cards, while Scrap Welder sacrifices them to return a different artifact from the graveyard to the battlefield. A perfect example for this is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sokenzan Smelter, which sacrifices artifacts to mak🍎e 3/1 Construct artifact creature tokens with haste.

Fortunately, there are a lot of artifacts in Neon Dynasty for you to sacrifice. Particularly useful are the many artifact creatures, such as Ironhood Boar, Nezumi Prowler, Undercity Scrounger, and the many equipment creatures with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Reconfigure. You can even use a lot of the graveyard recursion in this set to keep your sacrifices going, thanks to cards like Unforgiving One, Okiba Salvage, and Heiko Yamazaki, the General.

The best payoff for this strategy is Oni-Cult Anvil, which rewards your artifact-smashing ways with makღin🔯g 1/1 artifact creature tokens.

Red/Green: Modified

Modified is a new mechanic in Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty that gives your creatures buffs if they have a counter on them, are enchanted by an aura you control, or have an equipment artifact attached to them. The🅷 red/green archetype focuses on this, and gives you lots of ways to modify your creatures and then profit massively off them.

In general, red in this set is the colour for artifacts, so you can use the numerous Reconfigure artifact creatures to modify your forces. There are also a few auras, like Gift of Wrath and Akki War Paint for when you're in a pinch. Green is the opposite: it's light on the artifacts, but has a few auras you can throw out, like Favor of Jukai and Historian's Wisdom.

There are also a lot of ways to put counters on creatures, by far the easiest way to make them modified. This is through cards such as Roaring Earth, Storyweave, Jukai Preserver, Thundering Raiju, and Explosive Fury.

Once you've got your modified creatures, there are big payoff cards to help them smash even easier. While there's the delightful Invigorating Hot Spring, which gives modified creatures menace, an even scarier card is Kodama of the West Tree. It gives your modified creatures trample, and lets you fetch a land whenever one of them deals combat damage to your opponent. That's an absurd amount of ramp, so if you see it open in your dr⭕aft packs, make sure to grab it.

Green/White: Enchantments

Satsuki, the Living Lore by Ryan Pancoast

While most of Kamigawa has moved on and adopted modern technology, there are still those who cling to the ancient traditions. The Order of Jukai rejecꦓt modernity and embrace the enchantments and powers of the Kami instead.

It's not just auras that make this archetype so powerful; there are many enchantment creatures to help prop up your strategy. Go-Shintai of Shared Purpose and Go-Shintai of Boundless Vigor, Spirited Companion, Sunblade Samurai, Bearer of Memory, Bamboo Grove Archer, and Gang of Shigeki should all be cards yo𒁏u keep an e✅ye out for in your draft.

Don't forget about the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Saga enchantments, either. In Neon Dynasty, these are 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:double-faced cards for the first time, and the Sagas will tra♏nsform into enchantmentꦗ creatures when they've completed their chapters.

More than just lumping a load of disparate enchantments together, you can make use of cards like Generous Visitor, Kami of Transience, Weaver of Harmony, Jukai Naturalist, Sky-Blessed Samurai and Norika Yamazaki, the Poet to make your enchantment deck pop.

White/Black: Artifacts And Enchantments

Naomi, Pillar of Order by Joshua Raphael

Possibly the strangest archetype of Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty is white and black's "Balance" theme. Both colours aren't tied q🤡uite as closely to either artifacts or enchantments as the other three, but when put together, you have a strategy that revolves around using both to get an advantage.

Most of the time, this archetype wants you to control both an artifact and an enchantment at the same time. For instance, When We Were Young gives creatures lifelink until the end of the turn if you control both permanent types, while 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Naomi, Pillar of Order makes 2/2 Samurai c♕reature tokens with vigilance.

Other times, there may be a more forgiving sliding scale of effects depending on which of the two permanent types you control. Nezumi Bladeblesser gains deathtouch if you control an artifact, and can gain menace if you control an enchantment – getting both of them is the goal, but it isn't the en🅺d of the world if you're struggling to get set up.

Fortunately, there are enough artifact creature and enchantment creatures in both colours to make it a bit easier to get that balance going. Undercity Scrounger, Nezumi Prowler, Mokutai Ambusher, Dockside Chef, Go-Shintai of Hidden Cruelty, Spirited Companion, Sunblade Samurai, Lion Sash, Golden-Tail Disciple, Go-Shintai of Shared Purpose and Eiganjo Exemplar can all help out with this.

Blue/Red: Artifacts

Network Disruptor by Viko Menezes
Network Disruptor by Viko Menezes

Artifacts are a big part of Neon Dynasty, but no colours use them quite and want to keep them in play as🐬 much as blue and r𓂃ed.

Both colours have cards that reward you when an artifact enters the battlefield, like Replication Specialist, Skyswimmer Koi, Dragonspark Reactor, and Towashi Songshaper, so finding ways to cast more artifacts or make lots of tokens is a🌞 good iꦬdea.

Using the two colours' artifact creatures is the way to go, particularly the cheaper ones like Network Disruptor, Go-Shintai of Lost Wisdom, Armguard Familiar, Ogre-Head Helm, Reinforced Ronin, Rabbit Battery, and Simian Sling. You can use these to trigger the other artifact-loving cards, swing out in combat, or help fuel other cards like Reality Heist, which gets cheaper the more artifacts you control, or as a discard to Thirst for Knowledge to keep the cards you draw.

Also don't forget the excellent artifact-based Planeswalker Tezzeret, Betrayer of Flesh, who can let you 🐲draw a card whenꦆever an artifact becomes tapped.

Black/Green: Graveyard Recursion

Okiba Salvage by Lie Setiawan
Okiba Salvage by Lie Setiawan

Considering how wildly different the other draft archetypes are to other sets' colours, it's a shame to see green/black get the same usual Golgari Graveyard Matters style of play. However, i💖t does shake things u𓄧p slightly with the returning Channel mechanic, which gives you ways to dump powerful creatures into your graveyard ready to bring them straight back.

Channel isn't a central theme of this archetype, but taking a card and putting it straight into your graveyard can speed it up a lot. Green cards like Boseiju, Who Endures, Bamboo Grove Archer, Greater Tanuki, and Jukai Preserver. There's even some 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:self-mill to make us of as well, like with Teachings of the Kirin, Takenuma, Abandoned Mire, and Reito Sentinel.

Once you've filled your graveyard, keep an eye out for cards like Janji, the Midnight Sky, Kami of Restless Shadows, Okiba Salvage, Shiegeki, Jukai Visionary, Return to Action, Season of Renewal, and Gloomshrieker to pull things riꦑght back out. Sometimes it's to your hand, often it's straight to the battlefield.

Red/White: Samurai and Warriors

Selfless Samurai by Hugh Pindur
Selfless Samurai by Hugh Pindur

In a set so heavy on artifacts, it's almost nice to see red and white go back to its routes of being a combat-fo🔯cused colour identity. We do get som𝓀e Neon Dynasty flare, though, as this time it's all about attacking with a single Samurai for big bonuses.

There are loads and loads of ways to make attacking with a single Samurai worthwhile. These are cards like Eiganjo Exemplar, which gives the attacker +1/+1, or Imperial Subduer, which taps a target creature you don't control and opens the way to do damage. Selfless Samurai is a ꦚparticular🎶ly great card, as it gives a creature attacking on its own lifelink, and it can be sacrificed to make them indestructible as well.

When you're in a pinch for attackers, use Eiganjo Uprising and Imperial Oath to make a nice amount of Samurai creature tokens. Or you can use Raiyuu, Storm's Edge to give your♋self an extra combat ste🦩p and even more Samurai-hitting value.

Unless you're making use of equipment like Cloudsteel Kirin to give your creature flying, one thing the archetype does lack is built-in evasion. This is why Sky-Blessed Samurai and Peerless Samurai are so ce🐼ntral to the deck, with th♏eir flying and menace abilities.

Green/Blue: Ramp

Roaring Earth by Tuan Duong Chu
Roaring Earth by Tuan Duong Chu

The last draft archetype for Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty could cynically be described as "Simic Good Stuff", but it does come with an🍬 artifact- ☂and enchantment-matters twist to make it a bit more interesting.

The goal of this deck is to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:build up your mana resources quickly so that you can outpace your opponent and whack them with giant creatures. This set mainly does ramp through enchantments, like Grafted Growth, Jugan Defends the Temple, Azusa's Many Journeys, Boseiju Reaches Skyward, Careful Cultivation, and by modifying Orochi Merge-Keeper to make it a better mana dork. You can even channel Careful Cultivation to make a mana dork, or a Greater Tanuki for some land ramp.

Blue's contribution to this archetype is mostly in supplying the big creatures ready to smash down, though it does have some slight mana-producing capabilities with Moonsnare Prototype, or using Replication Specialist to copy mana rocks. Using creatures like Mirrorshell Crab, Kairi, The Swirling Sky, and the blue/green Colossal Skyturtle, with its impressive flying, ward, and six power, should help you barrel through your opponent's♐ defenses before they've even had time to set them up.
