Based on the film Dungeon & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, this seven-card Secret Lair brings the entire party, plus an unexpected guest, to Magic.
Released in both a foil and non-foil drop, the Honor Among Thieves Secret Lair gives each character a unique mechanic, color identity, and some incredibly accurate artwork to the cards. Here are all the cards you can find from the Secret Lair and see who the best member of the party is and how their abilities work in t൩he game.
7 ♈ Simon, Wild Magic Sorcerꦬer
Poor Simon, he rarely catches a break꧟ in the film and his card doesn’t quite show him at his full magical mighꦦt. When you cast an instant or sorcery with a mana value of three or more, you get to roll a d20 die.
On a one through nine, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:everyone draw a card. With a ten to nineteen result, only you draw a card. The best result is on a natura♈l twenty, where you get to copy the spell you꧂ cast.
At worst, you're almost always going to be drawing a card from Simon. Relying on hitting that twenty isn’t reliable but the card draw is always nice.
You can help ensure Simon only draws only you a card you can includ𒐪e Barbarian Class or Wyll, Blade of Frontiers to roll an extra dice and ignore the lower one.
6 ꧙ 💧 Holga, Relentless Rager
This six-mana Barbariౠan is all about c🌟ombat. With both haste and an ability that forces your opponents to block, Holga, Relentless Rager is a bit of a glass cannon.
The upside to Holga is that when she attacks, she buffs each attacking creature you control that’s attacking a player꧟ +1/+0 for each creature that player controls.
Against the right deck, Holga can p𓆉rovide a massive boost to your team, turning the tide in your match. You’ll want a few combat tricks tꦡo keep Holga alive, however, since she’ll become a major target for your opponents.
Any of the Mirran Swords will give Holga protection from creatures and spells of any two colors. You can also use the equipment Darksteel Plate and Hammer of Nazahn will give Holga indestructible, letting you freely attack i💃nto just about any board state.
5 Doric, Nature's Warden // Doric, Owlbear Avenger
The Druid from the Neverwinter Woods, Doric, Nature’s Warden is focused on building your mana base before buffing your legendary creatures with an all-out attack. When Doric comes into play, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:you get to se𝕴arch💙 your library for a Forest card and put it on the battlefield tapped.
This ramp helps ♊you transform Do𒆙ric, something that’s only capable when you attack with her and pay two mana. Any time you transform into Doric’s back side, Doric, Owlbear Avenger, she gives your other legendary creatures +2/+2 and trample for the turn.
This boost can help you push damage if you have a healthy amount of other legendary creatures. The best part of this ability is that it is repeatable since Doric automatically transf🌟orms back to her human side at the start of 🍸your turn.
4 Th𒉰emberchaud
The chonky Dragon from the film makes a special appearance in the D&D Secret🐷 Lair. As a wonderful bit of flavor, Themberchaud makes a departure from the majority of his🧸 Dragon kin since he naturally doesn’t have flying.
When Themberchaud comes into play, he deals damage to each other creature without flying and each player is equal to the number of Mountains you control. You can also exert Themberchaud when he attacks, which means he won’t untap during the ne🐬xt untap step, and if you do exert him, he gains flying for th♋e turn.
3 ♌ Forge, Neverwinter Charlatan
The eternally charming Force, Neverwinter Charlatan charmed his way into power and our hearts, and now onto ♍a Magic card. He protects himself with a fairly steep ward cost, forcing your opponents to sacrifice a creature if they want to target him with a spell or ability.
He also comes with a pretty steep boost 💧to his power, gaining +2/+0 for each Treasure you control.
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Forge helps you hoard those Treಌas𝓡ure tokens by making a new one any time a player sacrifices one or more cr🍬eatures, giving you a tapped Treasure token. This ability onlꦗy triggers once per turn, but can still quickly accrue tons of value in just a few turns.
2 ⛎ Xenk, Paladin Unbroken
The painfully straightforward Knight, Xenk, Paladin Unbroken brings a 𝄹new way to build a Voltron deck to Magic, letting your enchantments power up a single creature during combat. Xenk’s ability gives your auras exalted, which triggers when you attack with a single creature, giving that one creature +1/+1 until end of turn for each aura that has exalted.
T🍸he more auras you control, the more damage Xenk can dish out, especially since he naturally has double strike. Auras like Ethereal Armor and All That Glitters further build your damage, giving Xenk a massive boost to his stats.
Since you’ll need to slip in and actually hit your opponent's life total, cards like Spirit Mantle and Unquestioned Authority are vital for bypassing your opponent’s creatures.
1 ꦓ Edgin, Larcenous Lutenist
Leader of the party and versatile Bard of the group, Edgin, Larcenous Lutenist does a lot of neat things for a red and blue legendary creature. Edgin gives all your nonland cards foretell, which lets you pay two mana to exile it from your hand, onlꦯy to cast it on another turn for two less generic mana.
Casting your second spell each turn lets you goad a creature an opponent controls, forcing them to attack someone other than you. There are a lot of fun spells that you can run with Edgin as your commander, cards li𒊎ke Wild-Magic Soᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚrcerer which give the first spell you cast from exile cascade, cycling through your library until you find a spell that costs less than the initial spell.
