Sheldon Menery, the co-founder of the Commander Rules Committee for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Magic: The Gathering, is getting his own MTG card. This comes after 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Menery passed away earlier this month, with the ca𒅌rd celebrating the lasting legacy he leaves behind on the series.
We don't have any info on the card just yet, but the art was unveiled over the weekend and quickly spotted to be a tribute to Menery. It's a very popular move with fans, happy to see Menery remembered in the series he did so much for over his life. It's not clear when the card will be with us, as right now, it appears to have only been shown to attendees at MagicCon: Vegas.
Shown off at a MagicCon panel, our first look at the card's artwork was shared by @magikidsMTG on Twitter. It hasn't been shared on MTG's socials yet, so it isn't clear when we'll be able to purchase it ourselves.
This isn't the only tribute paid to Menery at MagicCon. With the event coming just over two weeks since his passing, there's also a booth where fans can pay their respects to the community legend, and donate money to his charity of choice, the American Cancer Society.
Menery is best remembered as one of the pioneers of the Commander format, the🍌 most popular way to play MTG. He✤ passed away on September 7, 2023, following a seven-year-long battle with throat cancer.
While he retired as a judge in 2011, Menery was an active participant in the MTG community right up until he passed earlier 𝔉this month. As such, tributes poured in from across the fanbase, and from
