Over the weekend, every friend I hung out with inevitably ended up aℱsking me if I’d watched Amazon Prime’s yet. Unfortunately, because of my job, most of my friends think I’🔯m some kind of gaming hot take generator, and people wanted to know if I thought the show was worth their time.

I do, for the record – I’m just three episodes in, but it’s definitely good. It’s good enough that I’m now starting to reevaluate Prime as a viable streaming service, which is 🌃huge considering I only use it for Fleabag rewatches and to catch up on The Boys and Gen V.

It feels like everybody’s watching Fallout, and suddenly everybody wants to play it again. TheGamer’s own Jade King 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:wrote about her fondness for and how it’s now the perfect time to 🌌go back to it, given that the show has just come out and there’s a current-gen update coming to the game within the month. A lot of my friends have also said that they’ve got a hankering for some wasteland murder, which is to be expected – nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

Bethesda, predictably, capitalised on this as the show came out, 168澳洲幸💛运5开奖网:running huge sales on every game in the series on multiple𒉰 platforms and a free trial for 𒉰Fallout 76. If you’ve never played Fallout 4 or any of the other games in the series, this is a good time to pick them up. You couldn’t pay me to do that, though.

Don’t get me wrong, Fal💧lout’s resurgence because of the show is great. More than that, it’s proof that the show did a really good job of creating a new, compelling story within the game’s already fascinating world. But I really didn’t enjoy Fallout 4.

In fact, I couldn’t even get more than a few hours in. I’ve tried twice – once when it first came out, and another time a couple of years ago at a friend’s urging – but it just didn’t click. I don’t know how to deal with the difficulty spikes from area to area, V.A.T.S. took ages for me to understand, and ghouls scare the life out of me. I hated the base building aspect, I felt constantly underpowered, and I couldn’ಌt quite figure out what I was doing wrong. I haven’t played any other Fallout games, wh🅺ich I understand players tend to view more fondly.

Fallout finds a way to reward fa🃏ns without alienating newcomers.

But from what I’ve played and seen, I can tell the world is interesting, which is how it’s sustained a franchise and spawned a TV adaptation. As my colleague Eric Switzer said 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:in his review of the Prime series, people don’t need to see familiar characters in a Falꦦlout adaptation because that’s not really the💟 point.

Players are more interested in the vibes, or as Eric more accurately describes it, the aesthetic, tone, and iconography of the world. The show does a great job of capturing the satire, the music, the dust, and violence, and all the things that are unique and horrifying about Fallout. Fallout, at least the latest 𒀰game, feels terrible to play, but it’s great to watch. Turns out the wasteland is pretty great when you’re not the one fighting to survive in it.
