One idea that has persisted throughout the entire 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Like A Dragon series is that Kazama Kiryu has never killed anyone. In a world full of outlaws, mobsters, and murderers, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Kiryu stands out by having a heart of gold and unwav🍌ering morals, always choosing to try and reform his enemies with a shirtless fistfight ra🦄ther than killing them.

We all know that this is complete nonsense though, right? The Dragon of Dojima has taken plenty of lives across the series, whether that be at his own hands, or by deliberately moving people into harm’s way. We’ve scoured through the entire series to see exactly how big of a body count Kiryu has managed to rack up, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:starting with his time in the 80s. Be warned, we’ll be spoiling pretty much every Yakuza game in the series.

We won’t be taking into account the many Heat Actions you can perform with katanas, pistols, and other deadly weapons, as that’s technically the player killing these people. A death will only count if it’s in a cutscene, or it’s needed to progress.

Yakuza 0

Kiryu’s entire career begins with him being framed for a murder, though he doesn’t do himself any favors during Yakuza 0’s infamous highway car chase.

To progress, players need to shoot drivers and bikers to force them to crash, but the scene ends with Kiryu shooting the pilot of a helicopter, which crashes behind them and explodes. You could feasibly walk away from a car/bike crash, but you’re definitely not walking away from that, so we can safely assume the pilot and the helicopter’s passengers - of which there are two - go up in the inferno. That’s three confirmed kills with Kiryu barely out of his teens.

Yakuza Kiwami

Kiryu hiding behind the body of a man getting shot by another man with a machine gun.

We’re in the 90s now and Kiryu has found himself on the end of yet another murder he didn’t commit. He doesn’t get out of this one though, is locked up for a decade, and th📖en immediately gets into trouble once again.

It takes a little while to get to Kiryu’s next confirmed kill, as he hunts down Lau Ka Long to find a kidnapped Haruka. Upon entering the Snake Flower Traid’s headquarters, Kiryu asks to see Lau Ka Long before a man with a machine gun starts spraying bullets at him. Instead of diving out of the way, Kiryu grabs the waiter who greeted him (who could actually be a civilian as far as we know) and uses his body as a shield. H൩e then throws the waiter’s bullet-ridden body over the counter at his attacker. Not cool, Kiryu🌟.

We then quickly follow up that death with another in a very familiar highway car chase, which has Kiryu taking out goons with a pistol yet again. We’ll discount the people we don’t see die, but the shootout culminates in a confirmed death. After shooting a truck driver’s arm, the vehicle swerves around in the road, tips over, and explodes, adding yet anoth♕er person to Kiryu’s rapidly growing body count.

Yakuza Kiwami 2

Yakuza 2 is a little strange as far as potential kills go, as even though Kiryu keeps his hands clean for the duration of the title, we do learn about the first death caused by his actions, though whether you’d add it to his final body count is a matter of debate.

Towards the end of Yakuza 2, we learn that a young Kiryu inadvertently began the slaughter of the Jingweon Mafia, having followed adoptive father Shintaro Kazama to their headquarters. Kazama had intended to defy his orders and let the members of the Jingweon Mafia flee, but Kiryu’s misunderstanding of the situation and reckless attempt to protect his father figure ended in the death of the Jingweon Mafia’s leader.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 also sees Kiryu throw a man underneath the wheels of a fl♐atbe💖d truck, which should feasibly kill just about anyone, but he comes back during the game’s final hours. Yakuza grunts are clearly made out of titanium.

Yakuza 5

After killing five people across three ga💝mes, Kiryu actually manages to show some restraint in Yakuza 3 and 4, never getting close to ending anyone throughout both entire games. You can’t shed blood when you have an orphanage to run.

That streak ends in Yakuza 5 though, as Kiryu is back to using people as human shields. In🍌 the fight against the Tojo Clan and Acting Chairman Minoru Aoyama at Hakata Pier, Kiryu takes on countless goons to stop an all-ไout war. At one point, he’s surrounded by several grunts, three of which he dispatches quite easily, before one pulls out a machine gun.

In a mandatory quicktime event, Kiryu grabs a different goon, uses him to block an incoming hail of bullets, and then kicks the machine gun in the attacker’s ha🌌nds, forcing him to spin and accidentally shoot two others. Kiryu’s human shield ꦆtakes five bullets, so we can presume he’s dead as a dodo, but since the other two only take one bullet each - and we know how persistent these guys are now - we can’t safely say that they died then and there.

He’s not done there though, as we get another death by proxy during the game’s climax. A now united gang stands before the Millennium Tower, ready to scale it once again, only to be interrupted by four armed thugs. Kiryu and Akiyama take out two of them, then spin around and punch/kick the other two who are about to fire. Kiryu’s punch lines up his goon, while Akiyama’s kick forces his goon to fire and kill his buddy. You could argue it was Aki👍yama’s kill, but it’s just as much Kiryu’s.

Yakuza 6

It takes a while for Kiryu to get his hands bloody in Yakuza🌱 6, with the Dragon of Dojima showing remarkable restraint when coming face to face with men who put Haruka into a coma. In what you’ll sense is a recurring theme throughout the series, Kiryu’s ninth confirmed kill is in yet another brawl with the Tojo Clan while scaling the Millennium Tower.

Close to the top of the tower, Kiryu is attacked by a helicopter (yes, another one) and has to hide behind stone pillars to avoid its turret fire. After dispatching a bunch of goons, Kiryu quickly grabs a rocket launcher and downs the helicopter, definitely killing whoever is inside. We can’t actually see how many people are inside this helicopter though, as the windows are tinted black, so we can only safely mark this as a single kill.

Astonishingly, Kiryu isn’t done with the helicopter slaughter, as a second chopper appears to lay down some turret fire mere moments after he dispatches the first one. With another very conveniently placed rocket launcher just lying on the ground, Kiryu sends a missile flying into the vehicle and destroys it. Just like the first, it’s too dark to see how many people are inside, so we can only mark it down as another single kill.

Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth

Finally, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:we have Kiryℱu’s swansong 𒐪adventure, as he manages to keep his hands clean in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Yakuza: Like A Dragon and the entirety of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Like a Dragon Gaiden. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Infinite Wealth also manages to satisfyingly complete the circle, as Kiryu’s killing spree ends jus❀t as it begins - with the destruction of yet another helicopter.

Upon reaching the top of Millennium Tower, Kiryu and his gang are assaulted by two heavily armored Seiryu Clan goons. After being defeated, one of them takes a grenade out of his pocket and pulls the pin. Sensing a good opportunity to get rid of the helicopter that’s been harassing them on their ascent, Kiryu tackles the goon, grabs his live grenade, and throws it into the helicopter hovering outside the window. It explodes, sending the vehicle hurtling to the ground along with two now super dead Seiryu Clan grunts.

With that final helicopter, we now know Kiryu’s body count. Over his long and illustrious life, Kiryu undisputedly kills a grand total of 12 people, whether it be by his own hands, or via his actions. To break it down even further, Kiryu kills eight people with exploding vehicles, two people by using them as human shields, and causes the d🎃eath of two people through his actions. Just like the man himself♔ says in Yakuza 5, he definitely isn’t a saint.
