The 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Like a Dragon series has always been driven by love. While it's not always romantic love, it is ultimately a series that sees the good in people, even as blood splatters against the walls. It may be a love for your friends, your family, or your community, but it is a series that fights for love, always. Kiryu Kazama has always represented standing up for the little guy, and as the torch was passed to Ichiban Kasuga, the game has continued to preach that, wherever nice guys finish, they're the only ones who can be proud of their deeds. It should be no surprise then that one of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Infinite Wealth's strongest stories is a love story. However, it is a little odd to find that it's a love story between two crustaceans.
One of these crustaceans is Nancy, who fans of the previous game may remember nearly ended up as an entrée. Rescued and adopted, Nancy begins the game as Ichiban's pet, and as he takes her to Hawaii with him, she discovers a hermit crab on the beach in one of the substories. At first, this starts off fairly small fry - Nancy notices a crab on the beach, but things are a little awkward (as first dates can be), so you fetch a flower and return to her love. Some boys are messing around with the crab, so you lob Nancy at them and she pinches them until they run away. Classic Like a Dragon slapstick, so classic it was there when the series was called Yakuza.
But things take a turn. You overhear talk of a sunken ship loaded with jewels, and realise the shiny shell the hermit crab lives in is worth a fortune. Unfortunately, so do some local small-time gangsters. When you return th🍃is time, you find the crab living in a rusty old cꦯan, the gangsters having stolen its shell. You beat them up, they run away, you get the shell back. More classic Like a Dragon slapstick.
However, as the fight ends, you realise Nancy is nowhere to be seen. She soon returns with a new shell, a pearlescent coral affair. It's less expensive monetarily than the bejewelled shell, but far nicer and roomier, so the crab gratefully accepts the shell from Nancy, and the trio all leave the beach together - Nancy and her love together at last.
There are a couple of elements to this story that help it stand out. Firstly, owing to the fact its stars are crustaceans, the entire thing is told without words and that makes for a particularly impressive bit of storytelling. Yes, it's a little trite and unlike some of Infinite Wealth's other stories, like how they manage to make snow (iykyk), also highly predictable. But it's still very charming, and despite there being little to do until right at the end, it kept dragging me back nonetheless.
The other part is that this hermit crab in question is named Olivia. True, this is because Ichiban just names her after the ship, but the ship is made up. The whole game is made up. The ship could have been called The David Stephen Jones, A Heterosexual just as easily. We don't know what gender Olivia is, nor do we know Nancy's. But these are two female-coded characters shown to be in love, and that's something. It's small, but it's something.
Theyꦐ also move in together after just three dates. Makཧe of this what you will.
It can be easy to intellectualise these issues depending on how you feel like feeling. Want to be angry? It's disgraceful that queer relationships are relegated to mere crustaceans when there's still so little on screen representation. Want to be uplifted? It's so cool that the devs or writers or translators slipped this in without Generic Business Bogeyman noticing and thus offering queer representation in a game that would have been starved of it if they tried to write a gay companion. Want to be angry in a different way? Become disgusted that this woke nonsense is being shoved down our throats so that not even crawfish are allowed to be straight now, and speculate that the next game will have a mixed race, transgender, disabled cat. Want to be normal? Say 'huh, the lobsters are lesbians, that's cool' and move on. Let's all do that last one.
